DNF.
I am sorry but I couldn't finish this book.
When I first saw this book, I was so excited to read it because let's face it, we don't have many Muslim Rep English novels. The synopsis sounded awesome, and it looked really good.
What it is, is complete utter disappointment. Why you may ask?
Let me tell you, it's NOT a good Muslim rep book. Most of the things in this book were wrong. So wrong that I was disgusted with them.
Why did Daniel's character had to rebel his religion? Why couldn't his character be a good Muslim? It would've made the book 1000 times better. Sigh.
I really hated that Daniel mocked Sohrab for being a good Muslim. It's so wrong. In my opinion, Sohrab should've been the main character. Because he was the only one who represented what Muslims are like.
Also, we Muslims NEVER have sex before marriage. It's forbidden. And people who do this are mostly outcasts or whatever. We also don't even touch the people of opposite gender (except for Mehram).
I really tried to finish this book, but I couldn't. I wish that the author would've written this book keeping in mind the rules of Islam and not mocking people who follow it in the book. But alas it cannot be changed.

With all the bad reviews about this book, I expected it to be cringy and bad. I haven't read Twilight, so I can't say that this book is a ripoff of it or anything. But from what I heard of Twilight, I don't think it is.
I actually really liked this book. Sure it was cliche, it was a good cliche book. Like the one you have fun reading and not spend the whole book cringing and hating it. This book is kinda like those bad dangerous boy and good girl kinda book, but with vampires, dragons and witches.
Grace had just lost her parents in a car crash and was sent to live in Katmere Academy in Alaska run by her Uncle and live with him and her cousin. Of course her first day doesn't go uneventful and she meets the most feared boy of Katmere Academy, Jaxon. She feels connection with him as he warns her to watch her back.
Some other things happen, most of which include Grace getting hurt and Jaxon saving her. And the realization of someone trying to kill Grace.
Overall the story was good but in my opinion, Grace was told the truth a bit late and it kinda dragged the story. And also, Grace's cousin Macy told her about the different groups in the academy but that wasn't much shown in the book except for Jaxon's and it should've been. Otherwise I really liked the storyline and the characters were good. I liked that Grace wasn't one of those whiny female characters. And the different references were really cool and oh the chapter names! They were funny and amazing.
The ending kinda shocked me and I am sooo waiting for the next book. I loved the chapters in Jaxon's pov, it was fun to read them.
This book is perfect for you if you like vampires, feared dark but protective boys and shocking endings.

THIS BOOK WAS SOOO FREAKING AMAZING I CAN'T STOP OBSESSING OVER IT!!!!
Louise, a witch who lives in a kingdom where people hunt witches. She steals with her best friend Coco who is also a witch in order to make ends meet. She lives in a city Cesarine hiding from her dark past.
Reid is a Chasseur who loathes witches and hunts them. He lives by the motto Thou shall not suffer a witch to live and does everything to make Archbishop, his father figure pleased of him.
Their world clashes due to a public scandal and they are forced to marry each other. Both loathe each other, Lou because Reid kills and loathes her kind and Reid because he is stuck with a disobedient foul mouth girl. But hate cannot last long when you live together and Lou is in inner war whether to tell Reid who she actually is. Will she be able to escape her past and get her happily ever after with Reid? Read to find out!
This book was sooo good, I was obsessed from the start! The world building was amazing and the character development of Reid was perfect. It was a book I could not put down and when I finished it, I couldn't stop thinking about it for days (still can't lol). The romance was so sweet and good that I was awwing over them the whole book. This book also gave me a good laugh and I was so swooning over Reid

This book is retelling of Cinderella and is about a girl Elle, who lives with her step-mother and step-sisters and is an intense fan of a sci-fi space show, Starfield. She works in a food truck with Sage and dreams of running away to L.A and write movie scripts.
Darien Freeman is an actor but also is secretly a con lover and is obsessed with Starfield. But he has to hide that to keep his "image" as his father says. He is nervous to play the part of Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot of Starfield and wants to just be himself and live the life he wants.
Both Elle's and Darien's worlds collide due to a wrong number message and now both cannot stop talking to each other despite not knowing who the other is.
When I first read the plot of this book, I was wary to read it because it didn't seem much interesting to me. But I was so wrong. This book was freaking fantastic!! It was so good that it has become one of my favourite reads of 2020 and my favourite contemporary book too!
The characters Elle and Darren were perfectly written, shown that they are not indeed perfect like most books seem to have. The author showed us how both the characters developed from how they were afraid to do stuff in the beginning to how they became stronger and fought for and did what they want to and what they love.
This book made my fangirl heart jump with happiness of how awesome the fandoms are, even if they aren't of books. It made me cry and not because of the sad scenes, but due to intense emotion in the book. I immediately searched if Starfield was real show or not, and found out that sadly it isn't. But then I came to the realization that the author is freaking genius to write a whole fandom in a book, with amazing quotes and lessons. Like this is a very hard thing to write and Ashley Poston excelled in it.
Geekerella might be a light contemporary, but it is also deep for those who understand it. It tells us to fight for what we love (like our fandom lives) and that beauty comes within the heart and not from looks and fame. It tells us to not judge people by the outside, because it's not necessary that things are always what they seem. It tells us that life might be hard, but good friends and family can make it better. It tells us that we all have a happily ever after as long as we work hard and fight for it. It tells us To look at the stars. Aim. Ignite which is now my favourite quote ever and my new motto too.
Overall, I can say that I am obsessed with this book and every fangirl or fanboy needs to read it whether they like books or not. This book is a masterpiece and it set the bar very high for any contemporary I will read in the future. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone and if you haven't read it, just go and do so.

I usually don't read circus books because they don't interest me much but this one sounded good.
And it was kinda.
Circus of the dead is about a girl Callie sent to an Island by her mother to help her Uncle with the circus. But when the circus she sees is unlike any other. It's filled with things that should not exist and people dying in the end. She also meets charming boy Benny there and a hot ringmaster Samuel. But she doesn't want to stay there and tries everything to leave the island.
I liked how the author described the circus, all the strange things happening in it and magic in it. What I didn't like was the characters. Callie was nice but sometimes too overdramatic in my opinion. But I guess that happens when you find yourself in a freaky place. Callie didn't believe in the magic of circus until very later and it kinda bugged me.
The romance was also confusing. I mean she finds Benny charming but hate him but hangs out with him every circus. And she finds Samuel irresistible and wants to kiss him but also kinda hates him when he returns the feelings and doesn't want her to go. Like girl make up your mind. So it was kinda a love triangle but kinda not. Confusing right?
And Samuel. He was charming at the first but then suddenly turned kinda crazy? Or crazy in love I guess.
There were also many things that should've been explained in this book even though its first in the series but they weren't.
So basically I loved the world building but not the characters much.
Overall the book was nice and besides it's downsides I kinda enjoyed it.
