Amazing plot and characters.
Only thing I hate is the author's insistence on omitting vital plot points for the sake of it. I noticed it in the first book but brushed it off— it happened twice again in this book and is even worse in the third.
If the entire story is centered around this plot point WHY CHOOSE TO MAKE CONVERSATIONS AND REVELATIONS REGARDING SAID PLOT HAPPEN OFF PAGE.
For example: Prince Ves is so stricken with guilt and grief over the death of his mother and brother.... OK great. Awesome. We see him falling to the floor crying as he is reunited with his mother. They break away from the crowd to seek privacy and talk. Reconnect. Cry even— Would have loved to know what that was like.
Its even worse when there was so much focus on Ves being and feeling partly responsible for the 'death' of his twin brother. We see him hound and berate Lykor, wanting to have a conversation with his brother since finding out he was alive. WHAT AN AMAZING REUNION THAT WAS. MAYBE THE AUTHOR WAS SO EXCITED FOR IT THAT SHE FORGOT TO WRITE IT!
This is probably the worst of it. It makes no sense and feels extremely lazy.
______
One thing I can appreciate is the duality of Ves' character. I'm glad that he wasn't the typical shadow wielding prince who was oh so strong and powerful, who had the answers to everything. While he was powerful, hilarious and sometimes smart, he was also impulsive and often guided (using this word loosely) by his emotions. He was irrational, damaged, misunderstood and imperfect.
Onto the MFM aspect of this series, I had a totally different pairing in mind and was shocked when the second love interest was revealed..... not mad at it though, love his character and his dynamic with Ves, but part of me wishes it wasLykor
Lykor and Jass >>>>>>> My sweet babies have been through enough.

I previously tried reading another book of this author and DNFd. Not sure why I thought this would have been any different. Horrible writing. Boring plot.
Don't know how I made it so far, wanted to DNF 20% in.
This was horrible. Ass. Terrible.

Hated the pacing and the insta lust. Weird pacing and time jumps. That twist was....... oh and did I mention that I hated the pacing
The book was good don't get me wrong, and i love the writing and characters but the unveiling of Agatha being a witch, Grimm finding out, whatever the fuck is happening with the mage/ wage or whatever the fuck, and Grimm's plot in everything was boring, anticlimactic and took way too long to happen.
And the sudden jump in their relationship is.......
