I honestly think I enjoyed this more then the original First Law trilogy. The story is centered around a 4 (ish) day battle, following the perspectives of multiple characters on both sides of the conflict. In typical Abercrombie fashion the combat is brutal, fast, and deadly, but this is so much more then the fights. Each character has amazing development and insight, lending their own unique perspectives.

Well worth a read, you could even read it stand alone and it would largely make sense.

I did not think I would like this book, it had been years since I had last saw "The Princess Bride" and while I liked the movie, it was never ranked as a favorite.

Cary Elwes's writing style and joyful insight into the making of the movie; however, was both amusing and addicting to read, I could not put the book down. I found myself watching clips of the scenes he discussed the making of, until I broke down and just rewatched the movie, after having read the book. I loved it, the subtle insight into the various scenes, characters, and actors gave me a newfound respect for the movie.

A must read for any fans of the movie or fantasy movies in general.
