Did not finish book.
Hot mess of a theory. Couldn’t vibe with it.

Mother of god. This was an ordeal. There were parts in the uncut version that I felt added to it - provided a much deeper insight into the mind of the Trashcan Man, which I enjoyed. But it’s so damn LONG.

It was a way happier ending than I expect from a King but I enjoyed it quite a bit! The expansion on the possibilities and power of the shining was super interesting even if Abra was way too OP. Dan might be a top 3 King character at this point.

I think it was too short and I would’ve liked to have had some closure on an ending, but it was really good and got in my head.

Hoooooly shit.
I had to wait a week to write this just so I could reflect on what I read.
This novel haunts me. I thought about it constantly when I wasn’t actively reading it. I stayed up all night decoding things. I felt like Zampano or maybe Johnny himself.
It’s an undertaking. It’s an experience on top of a novel. You have to be ready to commit. But it’s so worth it. It’s a work of art and you’re participating.
I never knew what was going on. Everything you think will end up being wrong. And in the end, I cried.
If you want basely human characters that annoy you, exasperate you, exhaust you, this is it. You hate the characters and get angry at their choices but you can’t help but root for them. I can’t recommend this one enough.

The premise was interesting but got a bit predictable. I hate an ambiguous ending for SURE. But it gets you thinking about life and the choices you make. I wouldn’t read it again.

I spend every single day of my life thinking about this book. I don't think I've ever been more scared.
