This was a really cute read. It’s ur regular romcom and I enjoyed it.

There was definitely some points where I got slightly bored but it would quickly pick up and pull me back in which was nice.

The third act wasn’t as bad as I was dreading which I’m sooo glad about. They were mature and made some good calls.

Mia was a decent fmc. I liked her passion for her career and her thoughts were so cute and relatable.

Xander was rlly sweet but also hot like damnnn. I love the way he never tried coming in between her career and gave her space when she needed it. He had his complexes lol but it still didn’t take away from the romance.

Overall a really cute and fun book <3

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this as much as I did but damn was it a fun fast paced book. I binged it within a couple hours and I’ve not done that in so long.

The chemistry was so hot 😮‍💨🪭 it did feel like it went from zero to hundred at first but I don’t care I had funnnn

Their annoyance to mutual hatred had me cackling. But their soft moments were so cute.

I liked aidens brother as a character. I’m hoping he gets a book 🤭

The writing needs a bit of work because there was a lot of telling and less showing but I never felt like it was a hindrance to the story itself.

The concept had me intrigued and it really did live up to my expectations in that sense. But it also didn’t play out the way I was dreading and I couldn’t be more happier.

The ending did drag a little but other than that I had a great time.

I’m unwell. This book has usurped my every waking thought this past two days. I loved it. I loved it. I loved it.

Evelyn and Arden you will always be loved by me. This is what you call soulmatery supreme. My star crossed lovers destined for heartbreak 😭😭😭

The soul crushing yearning, the agonising devotion to each other, the complexity 😭😭 this book finished meeeeee

The lengths they would go to in order to save their loved ones 🤚
They love and adore but also hate and suffer- my gosh so much suffering it’s unbearable 🚶‍♀️🚂
No bc this man wrote a book of poems about her IN EVERY LIFETIME plssssss I’m choking on my tears rn someone sedate me ‼️‼️‼️

It’s one of the rare times I have loved past/present time jumps 😩🙏 it was done so incredibly well. The jumps were seamless, keeping me engaged, settings and times changing without taking me out of the story. The effect of each chapter was enduring and heartbreaking. I will never get over it. I’m never forgetting these two.

The writing was beautiful and absolutely devastating. The plot was amazing and the action was perfectly balanced. I’m genuinely so in love with this authors work I have no idea what to do now it’s over. It feels like I’m destitute. I just know I’ll never find a book like this again. I’ll never find again everything this book gave to me and did to me and evoked in me.

Their love was soft and tender while simultaneously sharp and jagged as a serrated knife. Both of their personalities are how I imagine stars to be, bright and evident, different but also complimentary. Guys I could write poems and songs and essays about them. I could fill up pages and pages but none of the words would be enough to describe how gone I am for them.

If you haven’t read this then you’ve not seen real yearning. DROP EVERYTHING AND READ THIS BOOK TRUST ME U WONT REGRET IT.

I was totally not expecting the plot twist to be THAT like omg??? It took me for a spin and shattered me to a million pieces.

𝗙𝗮𝘃 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

‘I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you.’

“Before I could finish my sentence, there was a knife at my throat.
I sighed a long-suffering sigh, letting my eyes flutter close. ‘For fuck’s sake, Arden.’ “

“our hearts stopped beating as one. Every fucking time”

“Ten Hundred Years of You.”

‘You piss me off, you know that?’
He chuckled bitterly. ‘I love you too.’
~STAB ME ALREADY

“He held me steady, thick arms around my waist as we climbed into the grave.”
~JUST SHOOT ME

‘Come here, habibi,’ Arden whispered.
~I think I just died and went to heaven

‘without you, there would be no poetry. I would have only the harsh lens of my own worldview. I wouldn’t be able to see the beauty of life, because I only see it through your eyes. Muse is too simple a word for what you are to me.’

“my skin sings for you, my bones ache for you,
but the ghosts stalking the hallways tell me
that we will not leave this place alive.”

“yuánfèn, from Mandarin–a tragic fate between two people.”

“Ya’aburnee was a favourite. It means “may you bury me”. It’s the idea that one person in a pairing longs to die before the other, because living without them would be too excruciating.”

A lot of potential here but didn’t meet it.

Arla was so irritating omg I wanted to pull my hair out. She argued like a literal child and felt like a forced character. She’s supposed to be a kings assassin but was proven incompetent like half the book.

Hark deserved better. But then again he would argue back in the first half of the book and I was like 🥴 the things he said didn’t leave the best impression icel.

The fantasy aspect wasn’t properly introduced and I lost complete interest halfway thru for me to want to care about the dragons or the lore.

So disappointed because I really expecting this to be the next best thing 💔

I saw a lot of potential with this book but it fell flat for me.

The main characters had very bland personalities and just no connection. The dialogue and chemistry felt forced, it happened too quick for it to be believable.

The world building needed a lot more detail and depth but it was interesting enough to keep my attention till the end. There was one plot twist that had me genuinely surprised and I would maybe tune into book two just to see how it plays out.

I’m actually numb bc wdym I never saw that ending coming. No bc I had doubts and I should’ve trusted my gut but bc I trusted hoda I thought no this would be different. It can’t end the way I think it will but NOOOO HODA WAS REVEALED TO BE A TRAITOR AND NOW IM STOOD HERE HEARTBROKEN HOLDING THE TATTERS THAT IS THE REMAINS OF MY HEART WITH BETRAYAL IN MY EYES

I should’ve KNOWN. I shouldn’t have fell for it. I thought maybe this would be different but 😭😩💔💔💔💔 I just wasn’t expecting this turn and I hate itttttttt

This book was litch on my mind 25/8. It cured me from my silver elite depression only to put me into another one 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 whyyyy! Why must this always happen!!

Freya is so me like pls shes the realest girl ever. She was vulnerable and true and so incredibly loyal ugh I wannna just snatch her away and keep her from the cruel world 😩 the way she would cry when she would be struggling like yes bae I’d be a snotty mess if I were in ur position too I feel you 😭🤚

Her quick wit and barbs are hilarious. She’s so funny I genuinely laughed at her quips. She held her own with bjorn and their banter was ACTUALLY funny like laugh out loud slap ur knee blushing and giggling kinda funny.

Bjorn was sooooo hwat like 😮‍💨🪭 the way he would flirt had me biting my tongue rolling my eyes blushing intensely hahah like stawwwwp gehe (don’t ever stoppp I love u find me in my bed xx 😝💋) but in all seriousness this man has the biggest ego (heavy on BIG — and with good reason *wags brows*) but underneath is the sweetest man to grace the planet and it makes my heart hurtttttt 😭 I love him.

Their dynamic was so fresh and unique especially in fantasy books where it’s always the copy paste grumpy mmc with no sense of humour and the fmc with her dry personality. These two had sincere chemistry and tension and a camaraderie that I was RELISHING. Their banter was serving delivering providing and i never deny myself a feast and neither should u so read this book RFN.

The fantasy aspect was EVERYTHING. I’m actually never getting over it. There were so many things about this world and its characters that made it special and unique and I don’t think I’ll ever forget. The plot, the action and the lore was scrum dilly yum. It kept me FED till the last page oh my gosh I was high on the plot twists.

I want to imprint this book in my brain — reading it isn’t enough I need to inject it into my veins.

Hoda & Clace ihy but ily but I still hate u for recommending this to me 😾😔💔

Hoda I swear idk what I would’ve done without u during this 😭😭 bless u for putting up with the chaos that we’re my DM’s 🫂

Incredibly cliche but I liked the chemistry between the main characters.

the third act was sooo… 🌚 like it just didn’t give what was needed. Very unnecessary in my opinion and it was rlly predictable.

The writing could’ve been a lot better in the sense that there was no fluency in the dialogue and the inner monologues needed to be shorter.

The best thing was almost all the characters showed complexity and they frustrated me to no end lmao. I wanted to literally throttle Cillian thru my phone.

It was easy to read even tho I cringed quite a bit with some of the lines.

The writing was as expected for a debut. I liked the characters but I feel there was too much going on at once. A lot of tell and less show which caused a disconnect from the story also.

I liked that the characters went to therapy and there was a lot of care surrounding the topic of mental health.

The mmc was the highlight of this book. Aaron my Shayla 😭 he was sooo sweet and cute and adorable. This man learned to ride a whole ass motorbike just bc she hinted that she finds it hot. Plssss need to protect him at all costs!

I thought the book would be going in chronological order but while reading I realised it had past/present time jumps. I’ve always acknowledged that I’m not a big fan and unfortunately this fell victim to that.

The premise was really good and the story had direction but the execution lacked finesse.

Thank you sm to Esther for giving me the opportunity to read and review her work ♥︎
