LOVE LOVE LOVE THE ROMANCE IN THIS š«¶š¼š¤
the plot is a little messy with random untied strings but no one can can deny that the tension is to die for. it the mc was a little smarter and gave me a little less secondhand embarrassment then it would have been absolutely perfect in my standards š«¶š¼š«¶š¼š«¶š¼

iām ngl i was a little disappointed cuz the main character is kinda cringe and a little too awkward. she was practically ruining things for herself the whole time. also theyāre both unrealistically good people who sacrifice everything for charity šš.
nathan was the greenest flag iāve ever read about tho, he literally does every fuckin thing right and not in an embarrassingly cringe way either. also heās got w rizz lmaoo
ig this is an average book and itās kinda funny but thereās just nothing that special bout it

TW: MENTION OF RAPE, KIDNAPPING, āQUIRKYā PEOPLE, STUPIDITY
Carabeth or āCaraā is a girl that gets kidnapped buy a serial killer along with Dean Asher, her sisterās fiancĆ©. They develop a connection during their time in captivity and canāt shake it even during the time after.
The plot of this book was pretty strong but a lot of characters annoyed the living shit out of me. The main character hates her full name and goes by Cara. (omggg so quirky) We find out that sheās 29 in the first chapter, but if you didnāt know you would have thought that she was some immature child. She had a rivalry with Dean and was convinced that she hated him.

When they got kidnapped Dean tried to be mature and forget about their rivalry so they could figure out how to escape but Cara insisted that she hated him.
Cara was raped by their kidnapper and she and Dean were also forced to have sex. Only she was acknowledged as a SA survivor, though Dean was also technically raped. Dean was also blaming himself for raping Cara after he was forced to with a gun to his head.
Dean had been dating Caraās sister, Mandy, for 15 years before the kidnapping happened, but he broke things off with her after the kidnapping. Even though Dean suffered through intense trauma, Mandy lowkey complained about not having enough sex.
Dean obviously broke things off for his own reasons, but Cara was super convinced that he did it for her. She even told him to get back together with her sister, even after he told her that he broke things off for himself. WHY IS HER SKULL SO THICK. NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOU CARABETH.
Another thing that bothered me was that Cara was described as having āshiny golden curlsā while her sisterās hair was ābleached blondeā.
Anyway itās not that bad of a book and I cried during a few parts. She also adopted her kidnapperās dogs after the kidnapped threatened to feed her and Dean to themš
