Wow. Let me just start by saying, if you haven’t read this yet… I don’t know what you’re waiting for. Really.

Ms. Feeney… ma’am, you have lived up to your title of Queen of Killer Twists. Holy cow, this book kept me hooked the entire time. There were some interesting points made about marriage that left me thinking. Some things I never even considered. Some things that resonated with me.

The cleverness of the story left me enamored with the author and the genre once again. I mean, this plot is brilliant. The care of the details were so precise, nothing is left unfinished. Everything concludes nicely and spooky. I had five theories… not even kidding. All of them were wrong. This story has so much information and details and, in the end, you are still clueless as when you started reading the first time, because when the plot twists start hitting you from left and right… you won’t even see them coming.

Those final chapters… gave me the good goosebumps.

I loved Sometimes I Lie, I loved Rock Papers Scissors and now I cannot wait to start His & Hers. Feeney has become one of my favorite authors of all time.

I will be short with this one.

What a shit show!

Let me explain…

Our main character is desperate need of help. She wants to get in THE neighborhood so bad. This is the neighborhood where successful folks live in. Top quality houses with high class people. Her husband is a inconsiderate nightmare. She talks to him about the house that just became available in the community. He expresses concern over the area and the cost. She begins to meet up with the high class ladies of this community. We have a bunch of successful women that “work too damn hard” and complain about their husbands nonstop. They seek help from the “Alpha Female” of their neighborhood. She is a therapist that focuses on helping couples. Her, being a lawyer, suddenly finds herself representing one of the women on the case of the “unfortunate” death of her husband. Things at home just keep getting worse and she goes to the therapist for much needed help. Her husband loathes everything and everyone in the tight and exclusive group. The husbands won’t stop admiring the hard work that their wives do. The won’t stop talking about tips to remove stains from clothes. They won’t shut up about the chores that they have to do. They do it happily and wouldn’t even think of complaining because they love being able to help their family. Our lead wants that for her life. Or so she thinks…
Her husband reluctantly agrees to go to couple’s therapy. He is doubtful and clearly have his opinions. Much to her surprise, after a few sessions, her husband starts acting differently. He starts helping out in the house. Takes care of the kids so she can work… something weird is going on. She just can’t put her finger on it. Odd and suspicious things start popping out here and there while she investigates and studies the case of her client. She gets suspicious and shoves her nose where it doesn’t belong. Soon, she finds herself too deep in trouble and there’s no one to help her because everyone is in it.

This book screams CULT CULT CULT CULT CULT and I’m here for it.
I definitely enjoyed listening to the audio book version and honestly laughed at literally incredible the story was.

When a young man is found gruesomely mirdered on a London houseboat, it triggers questions about three women who knew him.

Laura is a troubled one-night stand last seen in the victim’s home. Carla is his grief-stricken aunt, already mourning the recent death of yet another family member. And Miriam is the nosy neighbor clearly keeping secrets from the police.

Three women with separate connections to the victim.

Three women who are - for different reasons- simmering with resentment. Who are, whether they know it or not, burning to right the wrongs done to them.

When it comes to revenge, even good people might be capable of terrible deeds. How far might any one of them go to find peace? How long can secrets smolder before they explode into flame?

Look what you started.

This is definitely Hawkins best work so far.

It’s true what they say, it is a bit of a slow burn, but once it hooks you it won’t let you go. The plot of this one is so complex and it keeps you guessing until the end. I could not figure out for the love of me who was the culprit. My goodness! I was suspicious of everyone. It has so many twists and turns.
If Hawkins keep writing stuff like this… UNSTOPPABLE I tell you. It was a palate cleanser compared to my last thriller. To me, it did not have heart-stopping-OMG-moments but it is truly entertaining and it keeps you intrigued with the question of “who the heck was responsible?”. Truly a great upgrade from The Girl on the Train.

I want to yell “THANK YOU Riverhead Books “ for my gifted copy. I’m honored to have received such an amazing book!

To everyone reading this review, the book comes out 8/31! Pre-order it and get your hand on it ASAP ‘cause it’s a good one!

In all honesty I can say that the book is okay. I have seen so many movies with the stuck -in-a-loop theme but never had the chance to read a book with it. The only thing that drove me to read it was… Bookstagram. I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into. Usually, when I see many people reading the sam book, I try not to read the reviews and give it a try basically blindfolded. I go in not knowing anything about the book and usually it works but I wish I’d known beforehand. While I enjoyed the sweet romance and the happy ending, I’m glad I read it during the holidays and that I’m done with. It. Definitely Hallmark worthy material.

Chloe Brown is not your typical girl on a romance novel. Actually, this badass of a woman has way too much on her plate but is handling it like a champ. Besides being the owner of a small business, she is consumed by pain basically 24/7. She is battling with Fibromyalgia and I know, from two different family members that this condition is utterly terrifying and dreadful! After death looked her right in the eyes , she had an epiphany of some sort, telling her that her life was lacking excitement. So, she made up her mind that she was going to “Get a life”. She made plan on a very organized list and everything was included… except love. She wasn’t looking for that, but it came knocking on her door anyway.

I know that you’ve read it before on my reviews but, this book was absolutely everything. EVERYTHING EVERYTHING. This is a powerful story of two people with some very serious and human issues coming together to learn from each other and love every flaw that there could possibly be. I adored that they were willing to work together and help each other out with their baggage. They want to grow together and that is vital for every relationship. When I first started reading the reviews, I was expecting some 50 shades of freaking Christian Grey kind of steam, which I do not like at all but, I was pleased with what I found. Sweet and passionate love. It has the perfect balance. I swear. Talia girl, we need to talk. How on earth did you came up with the idea for this series??? It is… I cannot describe it with the right words. It is lovely, so funny and marvellous!! That’s the right word.

This book was really something. At first, I was very intrigues with the plot and I love the main characters. My heart felt for both of them losing a husband and father. I cannot even begin to imaging what that feels like. Little Tim in my head is the most adorable toddler in the world. I found myself rooting for her the whole time and I was so upset when everyone thought she was crazy, and when in the police department were so dismissive of her but were real fast and cruel when she was accused. The main detective didn’t even acknowledge what she was trying to say and it infuriate me to the point of wanting to punch someone. She had to go through a lot, and when I say lot… I mean a lot, to find the truth. At some point I was really annoyed with the way she was approaching things and how at time it felt like she was neglecting Little Tim and she lost herself in the mess that she was in. I think that when you have a little life depending on you, especially after the loss of the other parent you need to be the rock and pillar of the family. I cannot left outside the reality of “We never know how we might react to a situation like that”, but regardless of that I was fed up with her. LOL I really like that there was a lot of technical vocabulary to give you the feeling of reading a real case and that you were talking to real pros. I found that there were some expressions and words that are not commonly used which made it interesting.

I.
HATED.
THIS.
BOOK.

ENOUGH SAID.

I am extremely happy that I was not disappointed by this book. I have been looking forward to read it since it came out. I did not read ahead other people’s reviews on it because I wanted to go in without any knowledge about what I was going to find in this new adventure. Boy I am glad I did that. Wendy Walker… can you please write more book like this??? Pretty please with cherry on top. I absolutely love this thriller that had me in suspense and at the edge of my seat the whole time. I freaking love when I am lost in a book and cannot figure out who the culprit is. When I cannot predict anything, is when I am enjoying a thriller even more. That feeling of not knowing what’s going to happen it’s amazing. Only in books, of course. I was even bitting my nails while reading it and I haven’t done that since I was in elementary school. This family has gone through terrible terrible things. Things that would destroy any human being. I was amazed by how strong Nicole was the whole book, how she didn’t gave up looking for her mom, even when the whole town seemed to be lying to her face and there was no one to trust. She was terribly sorry for all the bad things she said to her mom, she loved her and wanted her back. Her resilience is admirable. I recommend this book to my thriller-loving-followers 10/10.

This book is phenomenal. I am going to give it 4.5 stars with a touch of sazón !! I no longer read that many YA books but this one in particular belongs in my shelf. I need to have this amazing book in my possession. I cannot explain how much I loved it with the correct words. Being from Puerto Rico, born and raise in the island, to me is magical. Every time Emoni explained the feeling of nostalgia her Abuela felt every time she ate Emoni’s food… I feel that ever single time I cook something authentic from PR. This book has a very deep sense of what the Puerto Rican culture is. I found myself smiling and laughing along whenever Elizabeth said something in Spanish. Not only because it was funny but because I can see myself talking to my Abuela like that and Abuela saying the things Abuela Gloria said in the book. It is humbling how hard working Emoni is. She’s strong -minded and hardheaded but she achieves everything she wants. She’s a fighter. I didn’t like that she had baby Emma wearing Jordan’s but that’s another thing.
