Slay Ride by Lauren Biel

This was cute ^^ I really enjoyed seeing the shenanigans that Cat and Bennett got themselves into.
Was not expecting so much food play haha definitely went further than anything I've read before when it comes to food 🤭 I just have questions...like how/when did Bennett discover is love of food...🤔
I actually did feel bad for Bennett and wish there was just a bit more dialogue from Cat defending him...and defending him sooner than she did...
Overall loved it and can't wait until book 3! Curious to see how many books we get out of this series ^^

If I had a nickel for every dark romance I've read that includes accidental cannibalism...I'd have 2 nickels...which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice...😋
Such a fun read! I do think we could have spent a little after the big reveal...felt like it all resolved a lot quicker than it should have...idk maybe that's just me lol
Overall I really fun read if you're a fan of dark romcoms like Butcher and Blackbird.
I'm really excited to read the next book and see exactly how Cat and Bennet end up falling for each other 🤭

Ahh this was so cute! Wondering how slow of a burn we're going to get with this series...no matter what I'm here for it!
The Alien's Touch by Zoey Draven

Ugh I love Zoey's writing so much! We always get these amazing men who would do ANYTHING for their mates and hold their women above all else in life 🥰 irl men could really take some notes...😭
Through a Glass, Darkly by Nenia Campbell

Okay so this is definitely nowhere near a warm and fuzzy romance...its dark, brutal, honest, and painful...and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I also love that it's set in SF going back and forth between the years of 1997 and 2007...as someone who moved to the bay in 2008...it brought so many fond memories back to me 🥰
I think I connected to this story so much because it was easy to relate to Bethany...someone who's always felt like an outcast no matter what she did...like she was unworthy of love, affection, and true devotion...so when she meets someone [albeit toxic AF, manipulative, and just overall selfish] who wants to possess her...she's untrusting of it and pretty freaked out by it...especially when he reveals he's a vampire.
There's so much about this relationship that's bad...like irl...the red flags are knocking her on her ass...and any real friend would have her evaluated...but we're in a fictional realm and things happen 😅
I do love that though she does chose to turn...she doesn't say she forgives him or that everything is okay...she's merely giving them each time to figure it all out...I would imagine once she's turned he can't take her memories anymore...so if he fucks up there's no way to erase it...he'll genuinely have to work for that forgiveness...
Really I feel like the ending was so honest though...I mean you're telling me if someone offered you forever and really the two closest ppl in your life are already immortal...you wouldn't take it? I call BS.
In no way do I think the ways in which he pursued her were good or romantic, okay some of the things were romantic ...I mean noticing she didn't like the restaurant and then taking her to another place to eat after? That's sweet. Okay, and even his weird stalking...and essentially "50 First Date"-ing her though in a dark alternate universe...was kind of cute...showing that there was some kind of attraction even when she had no memory of him...BUT overall all the bad he did is much heavier on the scale than the sweet things...this is one of those couples that's going to need time and maybe a little therapy 😅

That Time I Took Down A Cult by Rebel Carter

This was a fun read ^^
Very campy, silly, and full of cheese lol
I don't think this book was meant to be taken super seriously...it was meant to be a bit of fun...and that's exactly what I got. ^^
The last 30% did feel a bit drawn out...I think the entire store could have been balanced a bit better but overall I still enjoyed the story and look forward to the next one. ^^

Their Blood Queen by J.R. Thorn

This was a fun read though I do wish the pacing was a bit different. I would have liked more of the book to have been after the foursome met...it felt weird how long it took for her to even know about all three men let alone finally be in the same space as all of them...
