I’m not sure what emotion I am feeling right now but oh boy am I feeling. If you enjoyed The Giver, you’ll enjoy this book.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 14%.
This book is sad. Like the writing is phenomenal and I’m interested in the world, but I relate to the main character too much. Even though we don’t have much in common this book

At every point of reading this book I felt soul crushingly depressed. Even the happy bits are superficial.

At the end of the day, no matter how hard he tries
he will never be a Rithmatist
and for a reason that’s not his fault. He’s just not special enough.

I don’t normally struggle with imposter syndrome, or with feeling like I’ll never reach my goals, but this book awakened something in me and left me in an existential crisis.

Really great book, I wish there were more YA and Adult novels this compelling.

I feel real bad for Robert at the end too :'(
