I loved this book so much. I feel like it deserves more hype and more attention. I was shocked when looking for secondary critical sources that there where virtually none available. I think it would be a great as an introduction to reading Orwell - as it is still quite witty but with a lot of depth and criticism on society- especially in regard to advertising and the middle-class alongside poverty. The style it is written in is beautiful and in moments touching as well as, frustrating. Brilliant.

Absolutely heartbreaking. The descriptive language is beautiful and the character building is brilliant and really makes you feel connected to Tess but also makes you question characters like Angel against Alec. Brilliant book.

A brilliant book covering nearly all aspects of the medieval woman. It is written really well with a lot balanced on primary sources. So well written and enjoyable.

Was a great introduction to the middle ages but can be a bit difficult to dip into as a beginner but I did enjoy it.
