This book was so so so good! It was my first Simone St. James read, and I was complete enamored with it.
The story follows Shea Collins as she investigates the Lady Killer case. This cold case involves the murder of two men by a woman. Beth Greer is the acquitted suspect. This case is twisted, but the truth is even more twisted than I expected.
This book had me legit scared at times! It was like reading a horror book, wrapped in a thriller. It made the book fly by because the anxiety is real! I had to take a thriller break after this because it is INTENSE.
This is a thriller you won't want to miss. Excuse me while I fill up my TBR with more Simone St. James' reads.

I am continuing to work through my never ending BOTM TBR....
I had high hopes for this book, even though I read questionable reviews. I really wanted to enjoy it but it feel pretty flat for me.
All the characters in this book were awful people. It made them all so unlikable, which is turn had me disliking all of them. All of the women especially in this book are horrible humans. They cheated on their husbands, sexually assaulted children (including their own friend's son), had obsessive/stalker tendencies, and thought themselves above the law. It was gross. For me, I have a hard time enjoying a book when I have such strong dislike for all the characters in it.
The twist at the end was unexpected. I felt like I figured out "who did it" right before it was announced. That is my reason for giving this three stars and not lower. I wouldn't recommend this one. If you have been thinking about reading it, skip it. It is not worth the time, in my opinion.

I loved this one! It was like a rollercoaster ride! There were twists and turns that left my head spinning. I couldn't figure out if Emily was a reliable narrator or not. I couldn't figure out if she was just paranoid or she was spot on with all her suspicions.
Although Emily was unreliable, I found her to be a likable character. I was rooting for her, scared for her, excited for her, etc. I thought Kristen was fascinating too. She was quite a trip!
This is definitely one for all those thriller lovers out there! The audio was fantastic too!

I was a little cautious about this one at first because I was unsure if I was ready to read about the pandemic. This book pleasantly surprised me though!
I found the parts relating to the pandemic relatable. I found them comforting rather than uncomfortable. It made me see how far we have come with the pandemic as it was like looking back in history to two years ago.
Both stories were enticing. One story being played out was what happened before the "death". The second was what happened after. I enjoyed that it also jumped around playing from both Ciara's and Oliver's POV of their relationship. It was interesting to see how one thing played out but was view entirely differently from each other.
This one also had me guessing until the end! There was twists that I didn't see coming, which is always exciting! Once I thought I had it figured out, I realized that I was completely wrong.
This is definitely a thriller I would recommend to any thriller lover!

BB Easton is a hoot. In her memoir, 44 Chapters about 4 men, you can't help but laugh out loud. Unfortunately most of it is at BB's expense. BB's writing is real and relatable. The relationship that she has with her husband, is one that I think many women can connect with.
BB is honest and raw when she talks about her past relationships. This book basically gives the finger to anyone who has ever called a woman a derogatory name. It proves that we, as women, are allowed to enjoy sex and have our desires met. This does not make us "bad" or "wrong".
BB also took these relationships and created a four book series. I definitely plan on reading these and other books by her. Netflix also turned this memoir into a series called Sex/Life. I haven't watched it yet, but am excited to dive in!

This is the second book in the Sisters of Salem series. I was excited to dive back in on Hunter's and Mercy's journey especially with the cliffhanger that I was left with after Book 1. I really loved all these characters and the overall story on Book 1.
The second book was much slower for me than book one. I thought parts dragged on, and I really did not like Mercy or Hunter. I felt like they really lost their spark from book one. Both girls were very selfish and self absorbed. I was disappointed in where their characters were compared to where they were in book one.
The ending though gets very exciting! I was flipping through pages and felt like everyone was finally getting back where they belong. I was at the point of giving this series up, but because of the ending I definitely will be picking up Book three!

I buddy read this with @cait.reads.and.drinks and I really enjoyed discussing this fascinating memoir with her. Written like a thriller, this memoir is exciting, dark, and twist. I highly recommend this one if love true crime or are a thriller fan.

If you are a fantasy fan, this should be your next book. Beast of Prey is just the first book in the Beast of Prey series. Gray writes beautifully and describes captivated characters in her new world.
Why 3 stars? There were some points that were just too slow and dragged on for this. The beginning and ending of this was super exciting! The ending 😯!! I can't wait to get my hands on book 2!
