she does it again, davis continues to confuse the hell out of me in ways i love. ugh her writing really just flows like a river, i read the second half of this in one evening because i had to know how all these lives would go. i think mary's last chapter was my favorite part.

this has some of my favorites in it! also his story about himself as a kid being obsessed w/ kazuo umezz was so funny, obsessed with how he depicts himself.

arghhh i love all of evanson's stuff as always... absolute banger of a novella. he's so good at withholding enough info about world building to keep you guessing, and leaves an open ending leaving me wishing if was longerrrr but like. i know it had to end then lol. ugh love his stuff

i loved the foil of the sheep farmer vs the badger baiter. i'm not 100% sure what happened at the end of the book before the epilogue? i might reread just that section but i did not absorb it at all. i thought it had a lot to say about how people treat animals says a lot about how they feel about other people.
