this has some of my favorites in it! also his story about himself as a kid being obsessed w/ kazuo umezz was so funny, obsessed with how he depicts himself.

arghhh i love all of evanson's stuff as always... absolute banger of a novella. he's so good at withholding enough info about world building to keep you guessing, and leaves an open ending leaving me wishing if was longerrrr but like. i know it had to end then lol. ugh love his stuff

i loved the foil of the sheep farmer vs the badger baiter. i'm not 100% sure what happened at the end of the book before the epilogue? i might reread just that section but i did not absorb it at all. i thought it had a lot to say about how people treat animals says a lot about how they feel about other people.

i feel like i'd like this one more if i read it instead of listened to it? plus it was at work so i was on and off distracted, but overall it had some good stories for folks who like interpersonal relationship stuff.

some very dated vibes around gender and race but the general ideas were pretty cool?
