I want you to look at me the way that Joe looks at Beck. A great dark read on love and obsession. Things dragged a bit here and there, but overall this book delivered.

Ooof. I'd read some disappointing reviews prior to reading The Fireman, so I went in with low expectations with hopes that I'd end up pleasantly surprised. Nope. What a cast of lifeless, expendable, and unrelatable characters. Such a great premise that at times reminded me of the great plague from The Stand, but somehow the characters just drag this thing down. Not what I've come to expect from Joe Hill. Enough with the Mary Poppins, for Christ sake.

Straight up fun read, in an 80's style Creature Feature kind of way. Great stuff when you are in the mood for that kind of horror fiction.
