The Postage Stamp Vegetable Garden: Grow Tons of Organic Vegetables in Tiny Spaces and Containers
Great resource book!
Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World: The Extraordinary True Story of Shackleton and the Endurance
Crazy to think they all came out of this alive. I read a bit about them recently finding the Endurance at the bottom of the ocean and had to find out more about their heroic story. Great book. Well written and kept my interest fully. Finished it in one sitting.
I loved that the house was fashioned into an additional character in the book. I've loved and suffered the loss of a family home and this book made me feel like I wasn't insane for still checking up on it and doing crazy drive by trips. I wish my sister were closer. We would certainly love to sit out on the street in front of that old place and talk about times long gone. What a charming story.
The way these include additional audio other than the words (background chatter at a party, horse hooves, birds chirping, etc) really brings these stories to life. I love that each character is done by a different person. Really helps me become invested and attached to characters. And I'd also vote for Emma Thompson to read every period piece from here on out. My goodness, she does it so well.
Really great resource book. I only wish that for the herbs in the back that I didn't need to use a different book for proper identification. But overall, very good.
Less of a love story than the title would lead the reader to believe, but still well written and held my interest. You can tell the author did a lot of research on the era and her medical background shows. Interesting topic of choice. I enjoyed it.
Enjoyed the audiobook. Kept me entertained till the very end. Didn't expect the twist at the end.
I wanted to enjoy this more. It felt really much more juvenile than I expected. Everyone that was breathless over some of the intimate moments in the book I really struggle to understand. I found myself rolling my eyes as I listened a LOT. Now I have heard that if you can get past the first book that they get better, so I'll try the next, but I don't have high hopes.
