Always a fan of Stephen King. No matter if it's a short story like this or a monster novel like some of his others, his style is always a favorite of mine. It's crazy how much information and character building he can fit in such a quick read. Enough so that I got a little misty eyed at the end of a 3 hr read. Only a true master can accomplish something like that.
Beautiful and heartbreaking. I love the way that McCarthy creates such visuals with very little words. The portion about the boy's mother was a matter of a few sentences and it brought me to tears. So moving with so little. I loved this book.
Michelle is a beautiful and inspiring human being. I loved this opportunity to hear about what makes her tick.
Very well written with easy to digest material. Now as someone who has lived that life experience I do feel like it will be easier said than done putting the learning into practice, but I've certainly got a lot of useful info and plenty of work to do. Lots to process here.
Education in a very approachable way. I love the way through the audiobook when she recognized that certain topics or sentences might be difficult to grasp but also very important that she broke things down, circled back and made it a point to make sure you got it before moving along. Sometimes these type of topics can be so dry if read so I really enjoyed listening as an audiobook. Made it more digestible for sure.
For a 2 hour audiobook I didn't expect to get anything mind blowing. I did appreciate the take away that you can get something good/positive from each of the signs. I find that when I read much into them there's the desire to want to skip to your own and just bypass all the others. This was light enough with the info that you didn't feel like you were getting too much about all the others and aching to get to your own. It was nice.
Check trigger warnings before reading this one. Phew. Some parts were difficult to listen to. Overall, I liked it. I felt like the pace was a little funny. Some parts I felt were taking forever, and then others felt rushed and left me wanting more. Just kind of middle of the road book for me.
