Wow, that was a ride.
I definitely liked this a lot. I think for me personally, it was just so much I had to take it in small bits and pieces. I loved the twists and how it involves an actual lawroom case.
There's objectively nothing wrong with this, I loved the writing and loved the podcast the main protagonist Rachel has, I loved what it was talked about sexual assault and showing some light to how poor the justice system can be with specific cases. I thought Rachel and Hannah were such interesting characters I couldn't get enough of reading from both of them. In most thrillers I find duo point of views irritating as I like one more than the other but this one, the dynamic worked so perfectly I never felt bored. I did feel nauseous and sad at times but Megan Goldin's writing was so powerful to embark that kind of reaction just with her words and I think that's such an amazing thing to do and it shows how powerful your writing is.
I was also shocked at the last final plot twists and I seriously can't explain how good this book is.
I cried a lot and I think it's very important to research trigger warnings before going in.

Pros:
I love the setting of 1800's England
I loved the title, who wouldn't be intrigued?
Cons:
I didn't like the writing very much
The characters felt very 1 dimensional and I didn't connect with any of them.
I don't think I'll continue with the series but it wasn't bad just not for me

This isn't exactly what I thought this was about but it wasn't disappointing. This follows our protagonist Moonbeam and her survival outside of a cult. The story goes between two narratives, before and after the fire went off. I liked Moonbeam as a main character and definitely liked the writing style the author did with it. I kinda wish it was more paranormal like I was told it was when it was just mostly talk of reglion. Definitely not a bad read though.
Let me just say that this book is good. 3 stars isnt a bad review. I liked the mystery behind it and how the story included fantasy/magical realism but unfortunately I kept finding myself distracted and not as interested as I've seen other reviews. I still liked this book and am very excited for this authors next works.
I'm so disappointed I didn't love this.
I liked the concept and thought the synopsis was so intriguing but for some reason I just really didn't connect or like the story as much as I hoped.
Three stars isn't bad it was just an average read for me but I know others love it.

3 stars!
I just finished this and I'm disappointed that this isn't a new favourite.
I loved the premise and the story itself kept me interested, I thought everything just seemed very rushed in places and boring but I really liked the story and how it had Female warriors, greek gods and enemies to lovers romance but I wasn't blown away from it unfortunately.
I think it's good and I do reccomend it! It'll definitely be a book I'll reccomend when anyone asks for greek mythology recommendations.

2 stars.
I liked the concept of how it's a fantasy standalone playing the 'damsel in distress and her knight in shining armor' troupe but I had a lot of problems with this one unfortunately.
Tw: Animal abuse, sexual assult, sexual abuse, grey area cheating, gaslighting, toxicity, self-harm, suicide.
If any of you have watched Game of Thrones, Emory who's on his journey to become king in the beginning of the novel literally reminds me so much of Joffery and I got annoyed by how similar they are.
Ama, the damsel in distress was an interesting character and I wish there was more depth about her and her Lynx Sorrow/Fury (I loved her sm)
I wish the story had more depth too it, maybe more world is building and more dragon content and less toxicity from Emory I would've bumped it up a couple of stars.
Beautiful cover though!

This was so cute!
I loved Gavin and Thea's family especially their 3 year old twins!
I usually never like second-chance relationships but this one was so heartfelt and adorable and you bet I'm gonna continue with the series.
Lyssa Kay Adams may just become a new favourite author, I loved the story and her writing so much. I highly reccomend!
The idea of a group of men being a part of a bookclub is so wholesome to me and I loved how It would rotate between Gavin's story and the book they were reading! So good!
