This was nice and there wasn't anything bad about it per se but I was just kind of bored while reading it? Not sure if I just wasn't in the right mood.

Cute read, enjoyed everything. Wish we'd gotten more of Callie since she felt a bit like a wallpaper kid to me, however I did like the latter half where she was more involved.

I wish we got a bit more of a lot of things tbh. Like I usually do love a good angst free read but this didn't have me squealing in excitement over the characters like I wanted it to. The third act break up was also kind of meh? Like I liked that it was our fmc who had the commitment issues and initiated the break up but besides that I didn't really feel too heartbroken over it either.

Like nothing was wrong but there just wasn't enough? There were a lot of things that I wish we could've spent more time on but instead we're just wrapped up all prettily in the epilogue like Angel's desire to get into R&B and his issues with his mom.

OK I really enjoyed this book. The whole thing was so fun and I really liked how it occasionally poked fun of the genre and didn't take itself too seriously for the most part. I loved the fmc so much. There's lots of times where authors focus more on the mmcs of their stories and leave their fmc more of a blank slate but this is definitely not the case. I absolutely adored the fmc and how passionate she was about her work and how she didn't lose focus in it just because she fell in love. The fact that her work was relevant up to the very end and wasn't just a side thing about her was an aspect I really liked about this book.

Speaking of love, I really enjoyed the development of the romance. I was initially worried that the insta-lust would result in insta-love but I really liked that it wasn't the case and how the book even made sure to emphasize the fact. Both mmcs were really charming in their own ways and I really liked both of them. Just wish that the book was a bit longer so we could've gotten more time between them and Dory, would have loved for more background on them, especially more about Sol since a lot of stuff was more about Lok.
Another thing I wish got more focus would be the SoLak thing. I felt like it kinda came out of nowhere and wish we'd gotten more regarding that?? Like I had to reread their one scene just to make sure I was reading things correctly since it was just so out of nowhere. Not to say I didn't like them together though, I really did which is why I wish there was more of a focus on it.
I liked how the concept of pregnancy was dealt with and how both mmcs were realistic about things and didn't get needlessly upset about her bc.

I absolutely loved the setting and the reasoning for how everything was the way it was.
The copyright infringement scene just absolutely cracked me up.
. Dory was really the perfect character to introduce the world to us and I really liked seeing things from her perspective.

I felt like the plot with the
big bad and Intern, while still enjoyable, just took too much time away from our trio. I would've loved to have more slice of life type scenes with their relationship developing more in between all the adventuring or after they dealt with Orsid.

I'm not sure how to feel about King Orsid and Blair though.

This was so fun. Reminded me a lot of the Henri Davenforth series in the best way possible. I was just so charmed by the fmc the entire time.

Loved Gilene and found her to be a fantastic fmc. Would've loved a chapter or two focusing on her time back home but I did like that we just cut to the chase. I was so worried that we'd get a 'Fmc goes hard and loses her powers at the end' so I'm so glad we didn't go in that direction.

The romance between the two was just so tender I loved every moment of it. But the kidnapping part was not a favorite so it took me a bit to warm up to Azarion. Did really emphathize with him though and didn't hold it against him (too much)

Really liked the beauty and the beast elements and the changes made to it
such as our beast staying a beast instead of permanently reverting back into his human form

I wasn't sure how to feel at the start when the story stuck really close to the fairy tale elements with all the things Lila was required to do but I started really enjoying it when these elements were more fast and loose.

Loved both of the main characters and how they grew to love each other. Abyssian killed me with his mistrust of Lila but it was understandable considering what he went through.

Wish we could've gotten more from them. I feel like things were too rushed + not enough plot until the end and even then it ended too abruptly for my liking. I liked Mirceo a lot more than I did Cas. Like I was hoping to like him in this one more than I did Trehan/Bettina's book and for the most part I did but I was just so annoyed by his judgement of Mirceo.

Objectively 5 stars but because I wasn't a huge fan of the mcs for the most part I'm deducting half a star.

I really liked the plot of this story, especially with the outsider pov of the main team. Also enjoyed the introduction of new players on the field.

Man, once again Kresley Cole did amazing with the character development. Initially I hated Thronos with his judgement and slut shaming but I really liked how he grew as a character.

While I love the character development and the enemies to lovers, I didn't care too much for the main plot and found things kind of boring until Nix got more involved. I'm so curious about where her story is going. It's always so satisfying to see what Nix's manipulations lead to.

Lots of parallels to the Bowen/Mari relationship but a lot better. Like Bowen, Will also had a lot of prejudice against his mate's race but unlike Bowen, he was able to learn to accept his mate's race and actually embrace it. Plus I feel like Will had a much more valid reason for his hatred of Succubi than Bowen did witches. Really enjoyed the angst in this one for that reason. Like yes Will was a complete and utter asshole at times but I was able to forgive him for it since it made sense for him to act the way he did and afterwards he tried to make amends and it actually felt like he was making an effort.
