It's impossible to review this book on its own as it is the culmination of all the novels and novellas before it.
It's also a very rare thing, to have a series end and end well. No, all the loose ends aren't tied up, but they aren't in life, either. It's all a little messy but in a way that is very human. People make choices that you want to shake them for, and others make you sigh and shrug your shoulders, but nothing feels out of character. Nothing is swerving into the realm of "who is this person?"
Sure, a few complaints. I would have liked to have seen some previous characters get some time in this book, as they were important before, but again, as I said before, what you get from life is messy and imperfect and it's my curiousity that's driving that more than feeling that the book was lacking something.
I will miss the world and the characters very much. They have been my friends for many years and I can always visit them again, but I know I don't get any new adventures with them. And that's okay.
