How many times can this author trick me? After the twist was revealed I was like “of course!!” But somehow she keeps me in the dark so well! This one was creepier than her others I’ve read.

I enjoyed wrapping up this world, but the it was not my favorite of the series. The second book gave me the most I think, but I’m still glad to have read and finished this series. It was a mostly calming and slow read that I listened to while getting ready for bed and winding down my day, which was right for pace and content.

Whenever I start a new thriller I am like “its going to be the person you least expect” and yet when the initials were revealed I was so surprised! Another fun one.

This was my first read from this author and I’m excited for more. The situation the main character finds herself in is so silly and unrealistic, in the best way. Felt like watching a guilty pleasure TV show - very fun read!

Really enjoyed this one and didn’t predict the twist.
The author pulled off one of my favorite writing tricks where the timelines are different than you were led to believe and when the two stories merge, they were not happening in parallel but one leads into the other, so fun!

I was happily surprised to like this one as much as the first in the series! More in depth world building and a likable main character.

I listened to this as the podcast and had a big time. If you aren’t already a Jo Firestone fan I don’t know if you’ll love it but as a big fan, it was super fun.

Unfortunately guessed the big twist halfway through and some of the book was pretty upsetting; one character never gets any justice which I really disliked. I did enjoy the audiobook narration and the murderer’s chapters were genuinely creepy with the voice changer which was a new experience but overall this one bummed me out.

“All I have ever wanted is a soft place”

Probably some of the best writing I have ever read, I saw myself and other women in every stage of Cassie’s life.

A bit of a slow burn but I enjoyed trying to put the pieces together and how parts of the book would follow one of characters and the reader would get to have information the other characters didn’t have yet.
