I can't remember the last time that I read a story that felt this original. I loved it and can't wait for the next installment !

Boring

A lesser author would have made this four separate books, but Brennan knew she had one beautiful and compelling story on her hands. Our protagonist had all of the strengths of everyone favourite type of sidekick. This book was beautiful and wonderful and what all YA books should be. We have musings on the necessity of violence in fantasy settings, the value of diplomacy, and (of course) the importance of knowing and loving those who you choose.

I loved every second of this book. This is going to be the book I put in the hands of the teenagers I will one day have.

Under Fortunate Stars

There were too many povs for asynchronous storytelling to work, for me. I would have cared more about the characters and the narrative if I felt we weren't losing so much time (especially as half of our cast is meant to be from the past so our story is already asynchronous). Seemed like a great first attempt at science fiction

I picked this book up expecting a beautiful and heartbreaking story about loss and humanity. I just felt like I didn't connect with any of the stuff that was going on and the deaths didn't hit me the way they were meant to.
