really loved all the k-drama references, plus the bonus k-drama starter guide at the end!

didn't like it as much as i hoped for. reading it became more of a chore, especially at the start. it took me a long while to get into the story, and i wasn't really that attached to the characters. i really enjoyed the courtroom scenes though, especially the ones leading up to the verdict. but overall the book was just okay.

instantly charmed by this book. i felt like a little kid again discovering magic. it's a nice reminder that it's okay to feel sorrow and to love and to be kind and to feel and to remember all these things because these are what make us human.

didn't like it as much as i wanted to. some of the vignettes i did enjoy, but for the most part it was meh. some of the texts i also feel like are better suited as spoken poetry.

beginning was a bit confusing with all the info dump. middle was sometimes entertaining, sometimes meh. the last 150 pages were engrossing. the entire book went too long and honestly could've been 200 pages shorter. can't wait for book two though!

it was a good start to a new (well new to me) rick riordan series. it's been years since i read the lightning thief, but i do remember loving it and i feel like it was still better than this one. still, i'll be reading the rest of the series and see if it gets better as it goes on.

p.s. i LOVE sadie
