To be honest, I read this book because I am interested in the cover. Wait, what is that? A uniform from Indonesia? Well, that's how I met this book and also the author. Then, let's talk about the whole of it.

The book itself is quite simple. But, if we look more deeply, the issue that the author brings it's a bit complicated. If I am not wrong, it is bringing up the issues about a girl who can easily get harassed and bullied online or real world. And, that is what happens to the main character in this book, Kiki Siregar. In short, Kiki Siregar makes a profile pretending as a boy when playing games (She said it is her own to make her feel safer), meets another player, and becomes a friend. Surprisingly, she moves into her friend's school that she just knows accidentally.

It is a stranger-lover trope mixed by an accidental meeting between the two characters, and falling in love trope. The conflict itself is cliche. She realized liked her friend, Liam (Who is her friend too in the games). But, she keeps the secret that both know each other before their first meeting in real life. Then, someone called Jonas Arifin comes, to Kiki's side, Jonas is bullying her. But, Jonas said it is how he flirted and showed how he likes her so much. In the new school, she is having a hard for getting a new friend. And, ended up Crazy Kiki becoming a trademark.

KIKI. As a main character, I see her character development in the end and she should do that. I see her as a teenager who facing a world that she doesn't want to live in. A new school means a new problem. She struggles to make friends, faces what her parents want, and also how she learns to recognize herself. Everything in. She represents teenagers who are still searching for their identity. I do not love or hate her. But, I prefer to be beside her as a friend to comfort them and hug her.

LIAM. I don't see something special about him. Does he want to be mysterious? He failed. Or does he want to be funny? Still failed. I see him as a supportive role that ONLY moving because the main character did that first. If not, MAYBE he is still stuck in the basement. But, I think I will give him a five star to become a gentleman, who wants to uphold justice, listens to Kiki well, and also accept Kiki's apologies. He mad. But, no such drama at the end of the love story.

JONAS ARIFIN. Well, we must talk about him. This man, I was supposed to love him. I love the trope about enemies to lovers. To be honest, I am falling for him at a moment when he calls Kiki, "Babe" (SORRY. I AM TOO HOPELESS ROMANTIC). Back again what he did, SO CREEPY. I believe, all the (stupid) rich kids will do the same thing (Tracking the IP ADDRESS?) Jonas is so dramatic, egoist, and too confident about himself and it makes him forget NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE POPULAR YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING. And, when he confesses during the dance stage (SORRY, FORGET THE NAME) about Kiki, YUP, THAT MOMENT. I HATE HIM. That's all.

As an Asian, this book does not too much talking about it. Yes, it still has on it. But, not detailed. So, for all the things I said before, why do I still give this book a higher rating? That's simple. Because I AM HAPPY AND ENJOY when I read this. Reading this do not think too much. JUST READ IT and done. You can feel how good this book is!

The time travel topic is kinda complicated, we talked about that with many objects, subjects, theories, etc. But, I found out here, that concept wrapped into heart-warming stories. It's still complicated with all the rules that must appear, isn't it? Without rules, a bad thing will happen. That's how it works, I guess? I am surprised each character is connected to the other, I thought at first all stand alone.

At the end of the day, whether one returns to the past or travels to the future, the present doesn't change. This hits me so hard. I feel like got punched ( a little). We think when we travel back to the past, we can change EVERYTHING. Mostly, we hope a bad or something that we don't want to happen in the future. But, is that really what we want? Or, it's just because of our anger? What if even if we change the past it always has its way into the same future. So, nothing changed at all.
We just want the answer. We just want this regret to be gone. Even if the future has not changed, at least we do feel not sorry anymore for ourselves or people that hurt because of us.

I can't give all stars because this kind of book does not belong to me. But, overall I still can enjoy a whole of story!

When I said I love this book, trust me, I am being honest. Surprisingly, even though the plot is slow-burn, and most of the time, the female character being annoying because she loves to make her own assumptions, I STILL CAN ENJOY IT (I amazed with myself). I realized that because the plot is good, the author's writing style, and the humor itself.

I love how's the author built the relationship between Elsie and Jake is growing. How coincidences happen make them always find themselves in the same situations and conditions!

I do not much put interest on Elsie because she's typically a character that I don't like. I do not hate her. But, I just do not like her characteristics. Is she trying to become savage? Overthinking (too much and lead her and Jake into the miscommunication trope).

Jake is cute. He's a cool guy who becomes soft when he meets someone he loves. I thought he was typically a quiet person, but he's not.

I love, love, and love Cece so much! She has good energy. I want to have a friend like her who always supports and tries to always be beside her best friend. She's cute.

As someone who is still new with Ali Hazelwood, I love this one! It is feel like I have a cute and good impression on her in our first met! ♡

When we talked about wealthy families, we came up with a glamorous, privileged, and got 99 problems (XD). What I saw from Pineapple Street is something simple. It shows how the Stockton family lives every day. It shows how's the family (rich family, of course) lives every day. I amazed how's their family grew in the past.

The book has three main characters, Sasha, Georgiana, and Darley. But, they are still connected to each other. Sasha is the wife of Cord, the brother of Georgiana and Darley. I am surprised with how's the relationship inside Stockton. Especially between Sasha and the other main characters.

SASHA. She's the daughter-in law in the Stockton family. She's coming from a middle-grade family that has different level of them. She was showing up how's hard to fit and act like them, the rich person. How's to look a like, how's to get the confessions, and also how's she was trying to love anything that around her. Accepting anything, even though maybe she felt not comfortable. Sasha is my favorite character. She's not the lovely one. But, I can see her character is growing and gives some change. The part when she confesses her feeling, it's hurt me. And, when she realized she's so far from her family. But, she realized in the end what she wanted, what she needed, and also what she was doing in the next.

GEORGIANA. She's supposed to be the top one until she's choose for having an affair with her work-mate. I REALLY MAD at this. and how's she's trying to become a main character over everything? And, anything? She should learn the world not involved around her. And, when she loses him (ugh, forget the name), I CONFUSED TO FEEL SORRY OR ANOTHER FEELING. Like? It's sad, but damn at least YOU MUST BEING HONEST to his wife? But, after all, my anger is cooling down. She's learned from her mistakes and trying to become a good one. And, please, learn again where's UEA. 🫠✋️

DARLEY. I am confused with her like she's the one without improvement until the end. We can see clearly how's complicated Sasha and Georgiana problems are, and comparing with Darley, it's the same, but since there's no specific explanations through her problems, it feels like nothing. She's not my special in my eyes.

In conclusion, I can't love or hate Pineapple Street. But, I will still recommend this book!

HAPPY PLACE is the 1st book of EMILY HENRY that I read. I have higher an expectation since all of her books are currently (mostly) everyone's favorite. But, ended up confused with all the things on it. When I imagine a second chance between two people, I think of a lot of deep talks or at least moments that can show both of them in the process of making up. Well, it's has. But, I think it's not strong as as I thought. And, I realized, I am not typically the person who loves the miscommunication trope A LOT. I had problems between present and past moments, especially, the flashback moments that I think some moments shouldn't have to be there. The flashback in the beginning does not a lot explain anything, we can see how's both love each other. The important things are on the back, but that's not a lot. I don't know if it wants to be typically slow-burn or not, but I don't feel like that. It's more like being stuck in the moment and suddenly jumping into something. Rather than feel romantic when both of them were in deep talks, I felt more frustrated. What I said was, "They don't have the communication, they only focus on their assumptions. And nobody wants to talk first since they both think not enough of each other."

HARRIET. I can feel her because we have been in the same situation (IF not, I think I will say I don't too much like her). I know how it feels when someone leaves us without explanation, It's sad and makes us think a lot of things that we shouldn't have to. At first, I think she is too much overthinking. She THINKS a lot without asking and makes her answer. She wants us to feel SORRY for her, she wants us to feel her sadness. But, I don't get it. But, knowing what happened to her, I give her a little apology. But, please, stop, for all of your assumptions. And, please, do not HORNY (too much).

WYN. I don't like him. I don't know what he wants. How did he pretend anything was good and try to joke around when the first time he met Harriet? I am mad. I just don't feel him. I always try excited about what he said, what he did, or anything. But, no one until the end made me feel I should give him at least two stars. The thing I clearly understand is the reason WHY HE DID that to HARRIET. I am sorry for your loss. That's sad. I know. But, YOU ARE STILL WRONG? I know it's hard for you. But, you are in the relationship too and someone is IN FRONT OF YOU. At least, TELL HER. And, why you are trying so much to give any kind of reason to make her feel bad for thinking like that? I mean, Okay, I accept it. But, that's not only her fault. YOU ALSO DID THAT. You are not the only one who falling. Losing someone is a terrible thing. All of us know about it. But, please do not leave someone alone without explanation. Or at least, try to reach her when you feel okay. Feeling sorry and only reaching it by the phone because you think that she hates you. Oh, Man. Better think again about your effort than say I love you any time to her.

THE RELATIONSHIP. So, Yup. That's all. THE MISSCOMMUNICATION is the highlight. And no one wanted to start it if the situation didn't push them.

OTHERS CHARACTERS. I can feel their friendship. I can see the author wants to highlight how close the six of them. And, I applause for that! But, I agree with someone who said, "It feels like I am a thrid-third wheel on their friendship. I hate Sabrina in the end. What she said to Harriet was the reason WHY her friend broke up, she did it terribly. How you can say that to someone close to you? She wants to fix everything, she wants everything back to normal, and she wants to save the friendship. But, what she did was wrong. And how she judges her closest friends, that's bad. I hate that. People have their own business. How close you are to someone, it is not easy to talk when you are not in a good feeling and situation. And, we must understand. You are not the main character.

LAST. I don't want to talk about the ending. But, beside all of that. EVERYTING WAS CLEAR. I can see the characters were growing (even the smallest things). And I love EMILY HENRY's writing style! That what I love!

A MESSAGE FOR YOU : Please, do not having a group of friendship and all of you has a relationship to each other.

This book made me smile from the first time I read it. It was fun to follow the relationship between Lucas and Rosie since the first time they met. The stranger to lover, fake situation, and unexpected moments tropes blend well until the end. It is typically a slow-burn plot, I can see their relationship growing day by day.

Talking about the fun part for me was when both always brought up that best friend thing during the experiment. Like, bro, best friend never did that? I MEAN, MAYBE? But, both of you just know each other can we label it like "best friend?"

Rosie has a spotlight until the end. She's the one who leads the relationship. She's the first one who starts confessing her feelings to Lucas. She has good character development and I love it. For Lucas, he's a good guy for Rosie. He knows how to make that girl comfortable around him.

Looking for slow-burn stories? This book belongs to YOU. I am excited to read this since EVERYONE said the story was good, and I am curious to read something in fantasy and romance mixed genre. Well, I still give this four stars since I love the whole of the atmosphere that the authors give to us, and the author writes so beautifully. I mean, it's a simple thing but makes me feel comfortable understanding the plots. I expect it will focus on their relationship when they were looking for Hala, I mean when they were on it. But, it only appeared in the last chapter. Like, Bruh, that's all? I guess it will be more complicated in that situation. But, it was not. I think it is more focused on their relationship before finding the Hala, it feels like only the process.
I am also shocked by the problem-solving between the female character and her mother, Like? The first time, I saw something difficult to understand-situation, etc. But, it ended up like that? I wish there were more stories between them, like how the relationship went well until the end, how both of them tried to make it better or at least in the end besides they chose different paths, they left it with good feelings. It feels like there's something more... to know... about them, something like we need more explanations.
The thing I love is the relationship between female and male characters, both typically partners who support each other. I love how the female character in the end can decide what she wants and get out of her comfort place, and she also can find something that she wants to follow, believe, and trust. She FINALLY can be in peace. And for a male character, I UNDERSTAND WHY people call him a gentleman.
In the end, I still love it! This the book that I am looking for! <3

ROMANTIC COMEDY became the first novel I read in 2024, I expected a lot because the novel appeared in the list of the best romances at GoodReads. So, why don't I pick this one?

The novel belongs to everyone who loves the typical slow-burn of the story. The female character, Sally, and Noah the male character, had a more intensive intensived relationship in the second chapter. The first one mostly talked about the background of Sally's job. But, it was still included how Sally and Noah met. The first chapter mostly talked about the background of Sally's job. But, it was still included how Sally and Noah met. This is a kind of romantic-office-mates trope.

I didn't like Sally. She has a lot of character development. Instead, she always tried to become a sarcastic person. She was an adult. But, she acts like a girl in the 20-25 years. Instead of that, I love how the author builds up the character of Noah. A gentleman who confessed to Sally first. The one who tried to start everything. Surprisingly, Noah was interested in Sally before both of them met. It was cute.
The conflict is not complicated, but I still enjoy reading. In the end, I wish I had been Noah in my real life.
