A theological allegory that seemed to transcend religions. The story and messages portrayed are not new or eye-opening, but each one is affirming and caused me to re-examine my own pursuits. The commentary with the author is slightly better than the book though.

An entertaining (if dated) sports narrative. Every now and then the linear timeline that was established early on in the book was abandoned, and that was quite irritating. Reading this book 20 years after its publishing, I found it less insightful since MJ's character couldn't stay hidden behind the smile for two decades. Phil Jackson's masterful psychological manipulation proves to be a novice's guide to successful management.
