Primal by K.A. Merikan
So I've read a couple of K.A. Merikan's books and I love them. And this book is still in their amazing signature style - chaos, unpredictability, deep love and some darkness.
This book has definitely a way more likeable MC than the first book Scum had. Is Jag still a red flag? Yep. But I could not help but actually root for him and his ways. There is some angst between the couple but I think there is quite a steady development with some arguments along the way. But the are not apart for a long time at any point in the book.
The found family was amazing even if more apparent in the second half. Why not full 5*? I think that Dane was less developed character than Jag. He was likeable but I wished he stood out more. What I loved about the book was the plus size appreciation.
The last couple of chapters introduced some drama (which is a norm for this series, there is always some drama introduced in the last quarter) but I expected it and actually could not wait for it.

4.5* for a swoony romance with some angst.
He wasn’t losing the man of his dreams to stray junk or a cold brought on by rain. He’d fight lightning for Dane if need be.

What a delight! These authors have created such an intriguing world with shadow magic and a cruel environment that I definitely want to revisit in future books.
The highlight of the book is the captor, Kyran. He is so sincere and sometimes a bit naive, but never stupid. The romance between him and Luke is beautifully woven throughout the plot, and by the end, their relationship just made sense. I truly appreciate books where the romance develops naturally, so you realize: "Huh... they are in love, and I don't question it at all. I'm just happy for them." The spice was hot and full of genuine need.
Luke was such a sympathetic character. Fighting for his freedom at every turn, he ultimately showed incredible strength and bravery. They really complemented each other.
The book is long, but I devoured every chapter, whether it was world-building or romance. And the description of clothes? Omg... a Goth's dream.

Priest Kink Fragments #1 by Adri Armstrong
4.5
Kinky, full of masochism and pain kink.
First two interconnected (same couple, there is sharing once), the last two different MCs.
Priest Between Two Monsters: Oh, how I wished this one was longer. The gentle monsters took me by surprise.

Another absolute gem. This time a historical incest story. There's lots of steam but also emotions. The ending was absolutely beautiful and I wouldn't be mad if we got to read more about these two princes.

This one needs to be in a museum. Wow. Amazing. The role play, the kinks and toys, and D/s elements. I enjoy a great praise/humiliation novella. And this one... the brothers were so hot.

Short, filthy, with some great kinks and D/s themes. Toys. All the toys.

This is everything. I love and live for DD and some D/s. And spanking with tears.
These two were filthy and so hot. And their dynamic was amazing. Though the shift from nothing to sex was a bit sudden. Would love for more forbidden trope. I rarely feel like the brothers see their needs as forbidden or taboo. Instead they quickly accept them.
There were some language errors that did take me out. But everything else outweighed the minor issues I had.

Oh my. I loved it. The tension between Crane and Stephen was amazing. I may be the minority but the shift from hate to friendship was great. Yes, the attraction was a little sudden but it definitely made sense as it was often used as a distraction.
Crane was simping hard in the second half and Stephen was also really cute but fierce. When they finally did the deed? Ooof. Wow. Amazing. The D/s hints were right up my alley.
The paranormal side was interesting though less developed than I'd have liked.
Overall a great mystery with an underlying plotline of two men becoming friends and maybe something more.
