The Bird King by G. Willow Wilson
3.5
I wanted to like it a lot, but there were too many moments of clunky prose and signaled import for me to get invested. Also am highly skeptical of the books politics toward the end
The Deep by Rivers Solomon

It’s fine. It’s very heavy handed in a fable type of way but has some fun moments of writing
For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway
Idk dude like the writing style is nice but it’s just a war book. There’s very little in it except war bad, fascism bad, fighting for freedom good if we must.
There are some cool things that he does stylistically with representing PTSD and sex, but other than that I find myself once again rather underwhelmed when it comes to Hemingway (especially when you put him in conversation with his contemporaries, who were writing much better books more consistently).

There’s a very real chance I’m not smart enough to read this book
Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson

Great twist at the end. I feel like he gets too connected to his characters and can’t kill them though
