Review time!

I was super excited to have been gifted a copy of this book from the author. It was actually on my buy list already! The cover art alone made me want to hoard this book like Gollum hoards the ring. The synopsis had me drawn in right away. Magic, celestials, werewolves, and so many more are in this book and my fantasy heart couldn’t be happier. I love how she wove her world with so many magical creatures!

Synopsis: Dyna is the last of a magical line of humans that can protect her town from a shadow demon so she goes off on a quest to find the one item that can vanquish it. She finds her half werewolf cousin to be her guide and stumbles upon a half breed celestial who joins her in her journey. Trials, tribulations, fighting, love, and friendships all ensue which is exactly what I wanted from this book. I just wish the sequel was out already because I need MORE!

This was my first five ⭐️ read of the summer! I feel like she is going to be the next SJM! She has a very similar writing style and I am here for it!

I've heard that people either love or hate this series. I absolutely loved the first installment. Jude is such a headstrong character and Cardan has so many hidden layers that I can't wait to uncover. I feel like either I'm going to love or hate Jude by the end of the series, and currently after this read, I'm leaning toward the latter.

This book was recommended by a friend who has similar taste in vamp novels as I do. I eagerly jumped in. While the beginning was rather slow (around the first 300 pages), the rest of the book was surprisingly action packed. I loved the pacing once Hawke and Poppy first started their journey and it just got better from there. The cliffhanger at the end of the book left me anxiously awaiting the sequel coming out later on this year.
