Ok, getting a little few steps forward few steps back here. Although there is development in the overall plot of the series we are starting to see some repetition here. Also, very little time passes in the book, which feels odd. I really like the series and the characters and the book did have a it's own story, but I feel like there was a lot familiar going on here. Will continue reading the series because I want to know where it's going, but this one wasn't my fave of the series.

I'm starting to wonder if I ever enjoy the second book in a series as much as the first. Although, this series hasn't super stuck with me either way but Blue Moon drove me a little crazy. I really dislike the device of adding seemingly random to delay big decision - and this book that was the whole focus.
But, I enjoyed the mystical, moon and magical elements to the book. I only remember some overtones of this in #1, more thematically there but very specific here. I liked that.
And I'm curious enough to keep reading... we'll see how that goes! It was a fast read.

Enjoyed this one a lot, really nice to read a standalone book for one but also nice to have physically strong female protagonist, even if she can be a bit bitchy. But can't well all be at times? It's also pretty racy for YA, which was actually rather impressive.
I had no idea this was the book the film of the same name was based on when I picked it up. There are certainly have a lot of differences but the social structure is similar and one of the most interesting takes on the lore.

Didn't enjoy as much as the first as the focus was still mystery, although less personal. I still love the gutsy writing style which I find a nice change of pace from what I regularly read and makes it extremely fast read. But, wasn't overly comfortable with the content and focus of some of the crime elements, and there was way less relationship/ romance. But - still enjoying series and looking forward to reading Gone.

Okay - I thought this was the last in the series, but clearly not. Not liking the book trend of stretching things out, especially when it goes the root of ripping open already resolved stories from the past and adding implausible things that don't feel consistent to the characters to prolong the story. Although I enjoyed the magic-y elements continuted from the second book, I also didn't love what was done with it. I expected at least some resolution here, not themes of atonement, regret, and inevitability. It keeps getting further away from the things I liked going in. Not sure if I'm up to read the last book - unless I is the last book.
