Writing was fine, I was bored and it was a short story which made me feel worse about not being able to just power through it. Life’s too short to read something you’re not into.

There was some angst in this one, although it was short lived. I enjoyed the darker backgrounds of these characters, especially the FMC. It was a little cringy at times but overall, not too bad.
We finally discover the overarching plot in this one and although it wasn’t nefarious, it was still interesting.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.
I have nothing but obscene hand gestures for how this series ended. 10/10 would recommend.

Not as great as Choosing Theo but amazing all the same and coincides/continues on from the first book. FMC and MMC are OK, story is good and introduces more characters in the Clecanian world that are relevant to the rest of the series.

Decent story line and picks up from book 3, although by the end, their reasons for separation didn’t seem all that dire. Certainly important to them individually, but also I was a little meh at the end. Still glad I read it and it contributes to the overarching plot of this series.
Spice: 3/5 a little angsty and somewhat anticlimactic

It wasn’t super interesting from the get go, but I tried to stick with it. FMC is pretty tough and independent, which was a nice change from the usual damsel in distress. A little bit of a slow burn, but I didn’t feel the usual anxiety or anticipation from it.
Spice: 3/5 it was good when it finally happened but again, I just didn’t feel the spark between them.

This shit’s YA AF. Story and writing is fine but I’m pissed about the lack of YA warning. Fantasy romance my ass.
