Katherine Center does it again! I will gladly die on the romance book hill with her.
I felt all the feels! I cried, laughed, desperately wanted to grab the characters by the face and tell them they’re being stubborn! I was entertained and hooked the entire time! Somehow I enjoyed it more than The Bodyguard and Hello Stranger. Definitely makes the top ten of my favorite books! If you haven’t already, PICK UP THIS BOOK!

There is so so so many spoilers in this… read at your own risk!

The epic crossover in the SJM cinematic universe.

When I walked into the living room with this book in my hand my parents joked about it being bigger than the bible. Honestly, this was my bible. This is what I would swear on if sworn into office (there are so many books I could pick for that… Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young, Heir of Fire, ACOMAF, ACOWAR all by Sarah J Maas, etc. etc). Also, random thought, imagine the day that America loses its strange obsession with religion and people are sworn into office by putting a hand on like a bound fanfiction… okay anywhooooo back to my rant on this book….

That was INSANE, like absolutely insane! I was terrified of this book, terrified because I knew it would consume every fiber of my being. I was right with that thought. Hence why it took me so long to read. That and the fact its THICK and hella intimidating. I fear this made my craving for more Rhys and Feyre content even stronger, which is a crazy thing to say… I JUST NEED MORE OF THEM! THEY ARE JUST PRECIOUS AND MAKE ME SO GIDDY AND SDJALKSJD

I SOBBED, like full on SOBBED… not like ‘haha omg I'm sobbing’ NO I WAS/AM SOBBING! I am speechless… so I’m glad I wrote down some notes as I went, trying to put it together now is ridiculous…

Can we talk about the hurt/comfort we see between characters in this masterpiece… GIRL!!!! That was crazy, The “who hurt you? I’ll kill them” moments were SO strong and I’m a sucker for them (I’m insane, I’m very aware).

Reading about ACOTAR characters no matter how brief brought me so much joy. Even if it was Nesta, which I am still so conflicted on my feelings toward her. When reading A Court of Silver Flames I genuinely did not care, like girl, be for real… get over yourself! Sis was celebrated for doing the most obvious and right thing, whatever. But I don’tttt knowwwww!!! I’m so conflicted AHHH! But I enjoyed reading her no matter how I feel about her character because it gave me small glimpses into Feyre and Rhysands life and that's all a girl can ask for in life really.

When Az was talking Nesta down to take off The Mask *MAJOR CHEFS KISS*!!!!!! I screamed!

Not Nesta eating cake with Bryces parents, shes so me!

RHYS AND RANDALL BEING BESTIE DADS ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!? IM MELTING!!!!

ALSO THE FACT THAT BRYCE IS SO POWERFUL SHE JUST TOOK THE MASK OFF, LIKE YOURE INSANE!!! YOURE SO INSANE!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Random applause for Chapter 85 (before the smut) and the vulnerability Hunt and Bryce shared. Talking about how they were each others best friend, home, and Bryce goes to say that she never thought she’d have another chance at a best friend, at the kind of happiness they shared after the loss of her best friend Dankia but stops herself “After Danika I didn’t think…”. WHEN I TELL YOU THAT SH!T MADE ME CRY!!!! SARAH J MAAS YOU ARE SO CRUEL AND I ADORE YOU FOR IT!

I feel the need to go through this book and highlight my favorite bits and pieces, but I fear that project will take over my life, so maybe not until CC4.

SHE KNEW HER DEAD BESTIES WERE OKAY AND SAFE WAITING FOR HER WHEN HER TIME IS READY AND SOMEHOW THAT WAS EVERYTHING…… I WANT TO DIE!!!!!

The one Taylor Swift reference made up for the abundance of Riverdale references (so… so many Riverdale references). The funny thing is I wouldn't have given it another thought, but I have a friend who has some heavy feelings towards the show so each time I read the word ‘Riverdale’ I instantly had the urge to text her (amenity to said friend even though said friend is probably the only person reading this). HI FRIEND! Anyways, this was adorable.

I loved the TV series ‘The Queens Gambit’ and promptly taught myself how to play chess. There was a long period of time when I would wake up each morning and demand to play on my family's super cool Marvel chess set against my brother. Side note, I was never good. I almost always lost. But it was fun pretending I was smart for a moment. All that to say, this book is perfect for people who love the series. I think Mal is a lot like Beth Harmon, less psychedelic drugs though, like a lot less.
I admire Ali Hazelwood so much as an author and a person. I thought this story was a lot of fun. The characters were interesting and complex. Even though I knew a third-act breakup was coming, I still wanted to put those two in a room and force them to work it out. If I were Mal, I would have been so embarrassed after coming to terms with the words coming out of my mouth that I would have either disappeared off the edge of the planet to never be seen again or thrown rocks at his window holding up a boombox begging on my knees. Basically, I get it girl, you are going through so much, but why did you do him like that? For me to feel bad for a man takes a lot so this is crazy.

Also, Mal totally thinks her moms a complete idiot and I couldn't help but giggle about how dumb she was being. Homegirl was on Good Morning America and didn’t even think twice about how she was lying to her entire family about where she is. My sweet Mal, I know there's a lot going on in that brain of yours, but what? What were you thinking? No no, that's the thing, the real question is why weren't you thinking. Anywho, that was a silly plot bit.

Overall I had fun, I wanted to keep reading and reading. It was cute and fluffy and angsty and everything a romance novel should be.

I liked this one more than the first one in the duet. These two books were absolutely insane, but a fun ride.

WOW!
I am so unsteady writing this. This book felt like the warmest hug from a long-lost friend. I cried, squealed, jumped up and down, and cried some more. I am so deeply in love with these characters and comforted by the author's brilliant and beautiful words. I will likely never recover from this one... so many tears have stained these pages. Long story short, read this book but be prepared for tears and an existential crisis.

The aches hanging heavy in my chest after reading this are inspired to write stories that make readers feel just like this.

Well, that was... well it certainly was a book. Towards the end, I started to understand why this was getting all the hype. By the end I mean like literally the last two chapters. I just don't think this is my thing. I can read dark romances and be okay with horrible main characters, but bro was creeping me out. I think I just hated the MMC. Still consuming what the hell I just read, will I be reading book two? Duh. But a bit speechless and conflicted on how I'm feeling right now...

“wE’rE nOt LiKe OtHeR cOuPlEs”

I read this on the train ride to work… so I don’t feel too bad about reading a book I didn’t necessarily enjoy.

The miscommunication made me want to scream! I loved the Heartbreaker graphic novels but am wondering after this if I liked it because of the illustrations or the writing. I realize they are in highschool, but y’all… This book wouldn’t exist if they just had a conversation. ONE CONVERSATION! I’m so sad because I literally did not care at all. I liked the characters in the graphic novels but this novella made me lose all respect and like for them. Like grow up, get over yourself. I cringed so hard reading this!

Also, when will people stop acting like going to college is the biggest deal in the world? I get its a big transition and moving away is scary. But everyone acts like their dying forever and its SO annoying. Like stfu, you live in a world where you can facetime and call whenever. I get its not the same but be thankful you still get to talk to someone you love!

A one woman play. I was lucky enough to see Jodie Comer perform this play in New York and will never recover! It is such a beautiful thing to see written words transform in such a way. Her performance was utterly phenomenal. In order to achieve such a moving performance, the written words were key.

The author successfully brought to life a complicated plot from the point of view of one character while ensuring readers grasped the feelings of characters surrounding the main character. This is such an important message! Very worth the read! (Also a very quick read).
