LOL some of yall leaving low reviews need to look at what you’re getting into first. Before you start this book, know that it is a PARANORMAL ROMANCE and DRAGON SHIFTER smut book. Like. Yeah if you only like human/human this is not for you. It gets explicit. It is not “sweet” 😂 this is very much “Dead Dove Do Not Eat” stuff (ie - check triggers and tags, or don’t get mad when it has those triggers/tags)
Now, if you do like that kind of stuff, this is a good book to read. I enjoy a lot of Rebecca Kenney’s stuff. I didn’t love the cliffhanger at the end - I’d have rather read a longer book with resolution in it. This book is absolutely more smut than plot, but the plot is plotting.
I’m not sure if I’ll read the second book. This book was so short I didn’t feel like I totally grew to love the characters. Again, why I wish it was longer. But, it was an enjoyable and hot quick read!

I feel like the audiobook is the way to go with this one. I see other people saying it’s hard to follow with no quotation marks - not an issue in the book! Very easy to follow, and the narrators accents are very immersive.
The story itself is beautiful but very character driven - so if you like a plot heavy book this might not be for you. Extremely poetic, so again, if you like straightforward prose - this might not be the book for you.
I dig both aspects, so I really enjoyed this book!

Absolutely wonderful. I had never heard of this webtoon before I received this ARC from NetGalley. I devoured the entire Volume 1 in one sitting. Then, I needed more, so I decided to sign up for WebToon specifically to continue this story. I read the remaining 100 episodes in about 2 more hours, and its safe to say this is my new obsession. The whole series is amazing and I have already pre-ordered the physical copy that releases in November.
Now, specifically, Volume 1 was great. The story within this set of chapters was sweet and endearing. All of the characters are amazing. It reminds me a lot of She-Ra: The Princesses of Power or The Dragon Prince - both in art style and in characterization. Even the "side characters" have fleshed-out stories. The world-building and magic systems are well thought out and seamlessly introduced without feeling like a lore dump. I loved the bonus chapter at the end. The only complaint I have is how short the volume is - lol! I would recommend this series to anyone.

Literally felt like a chore to read, I would have DNF’ed this if I wasnt reading for a book club. The last 30% of the book was the only somewhat interesting part, because it was the only part where anything actually happened. This book surprised me in that it didn’t surprise me. I kept thinking “Ok, it can’t be _____ because that would be obvious.” Well, I guess I was proven wrong there.
I feel led astray by people who have called this a LGBTQ book. The relationship between Maura and Holly had no redeeming qualities. I never felt any reason why Holly would like her in the first place. We are told over and over again that Maura is mysterious and alluring, but we never actually see that. We are told over and over again that Holly is drawn to her, but again, we never actually see that. Honestly, the most interesting character in the book dies in the Prologue.
I was really hoping for something dreamy and atmospheric with the book being set in Savannah. But other than a few references here and there, this book could have been set anywhere.
Overall, I really wanted to like this book but it was a disappointment. Would not recommend.

This book was really surprising to me! I normally don’t like YA or Sports Romance but there was something so joyful and heart warming about this book. I loved both FMCs, and all of the supporting characters. There was just the right amount of conflict to make the book interesting, but not enough to stress me out. This is a really enjoyable, cozy read. I would reccomend to read this book over the holiday season.
I was absolutely obsessed with this book in the first half. I literally couldn't put it down. I was avoiding work and responsibilities because all I could think about was this book. The tension and yearning between Candra and Nemeth was *chef's kiss* However, I think the pacing gets off around 40% - 50% of the way through the book. I would have enjoyed this better as two separate books because the two halves do feel really different. I also personally do not like the accidental pregnancy trope, and I feel like when Nemeth and Candra got married, the tension was gone and I didn't really care about the story as much. Overall, a very well-done smutty book, but a little too long for my liking. The second half did not grip me as much as the first half did.
Graphic: Pregnancy
It felt a little overhyped. Maybe since I am an avid science fiction reader, the “twist” was not that shocking. I didn’t find this book that heartbreaking because I didn’t really care for any of the characters. The writing was well done though.
This was a really fun read. Rebecca Kenney is the master of balancing engaging plot with 🌶️ smut. This has been my favorite book of hers so far. The tension between the two MC’s is addicting, and the actual story was really interesting.
I was so surprised by this book. Its almost like a collection of short stories, but each story is connected to each other. Really reminiscent of Black Mirror and Parable of the Sower. The whole was greater than the sum of the parts. Even though there were chapters that were more interesting to me than others, each was vital to the entire story and I was so amazed at how it all came together.
