This book reads like a fantasy thriller. Full of darkness, murder, magic, and plot twists. It truly deserves more hype than it gets.
The writing is engaging. The plot is awesome, and you fall in love with the characters. There were so many things that I didn’t expect/didn’t see coming.

I’d like to be able to up this to a 4.5 but I can’t on this platform.
I love how strong and morally grey the MFC is. Dianna might be “a monster” but she’s not really a true monster. Liam is another badass MMC. Both work well together and their relationship is quirky and full of sass. Both main characters being ancient and strong in their own right makes a fun read.
The side characters, the character development, and the plot is all really good.

I will accept no criticism on this book. I loved it. I went through every emotion during the read.
This book, this series, and these characters have become my Roman Empire.
The plot and the plot twists are fantastic. Dianna and Samkiel are top tier, morally grey, main characters. I even fell in love with the side characters.
I’d read the napkin that Amber Nicole writes on at this point if it was about this series

Juniper & Thorn was just not for me. However, it might be a wonderful book for you.
This book is dark; a mystery full of magic, monsters, familial backstabbing, and trauma. Both main characters (male and female) have crazy past traumas that shape their characters and personalities.
It’s plot driven, with a romance subplot. The romance is the driving force behind the FMC breaking away from her (terrible) family and finding herself.
I had a really hard time connecting with any of the characters, and they all fell a little flat for me. The overall mystery plot was good, but a little predictable (personally). However, it’s well written, and just over 300 pages.

V.E Schwab just knows how to write a good, dark/magic book.
It’s a quick read, but it’s also incredibly well done. My anxiety peaked at points, and I could feel the race against the clock. Lexi seemed older than her 16 years, but it’s also a fantasy world, so…there’s that.
Give this book a read if you like dark magic, good vs. evil, witches, and a good plot
