Tropes: single dad, sports romance, best friends to lovers, small town, forbidden, football player x cheerleader

3rd book in a series but can be read as a standalone

*Alexa play "ruin the friendship" by Demi Lovato

Rhodes and Elle have been best friends since meeting in college. Now he's a pro football player and she is a professional cheerleader for his team. I loved the tension between these two and the way they both cared for each other. They both kind of have had feelings but never really addressed it with each other because they were scared to ruin their friendship. She also happens to be the godmother to Rhode's son sooooo the tad bit of angst we get I absolutely devoured. One thing leads to another and they finally give in to each other. I really enjoyed this one, I thought it was super cute and as someone who doesn't read a ton of friends to lovers I think this was a good one.

Tropes: cowboy mmc, small town, country singer fmc, romantic suspense, heroine in danger, age gap, forced proximity

Book 3 in a series but can be read as a standalone

I have been enjoying this series and I was so happy to get to dive back into it with a new couple. Ford and Reese were spotted fun to read. I love that we get suspense, age gap goodness and tension from these two. Reese basically is on the run and Ford agrees to watch over her, but when they first meet he of course thinks she is just a spoiled princess. I really enjoyed seeing how Reese was kind of rediscovering herself since she is free from everyone for the first time in her life. She gave Ford a run for his money and it was hilarious. Ford is such a broody man and watching him open up to Reese and his feelings for her was quite a treat. I loved how strong these two were as individuals but also how they would literally do anything for each other. It was such a great read and I am really happy with their story.

Tropes: small town set in 1987, age gap, single dad x nanny, angst, forbidden, preacher's daughter

It's no secret that Sunday Morning was one of my top reads from last year and an overall favorite. I was so excited when I found out we were getting Eve's story. Eve and Kyle were such a beautiful read. There is angst, tension, passion and that lovely forbidden aspect I go feral for. I could not get enough of these two. I never wanted to put the book down or have to say goodbye. I just love this little town Jewel E Ann has created. I also love how we are able to see that this story isn't just about two people falling in love but Eve trying to find herself as an 18 year old young woman. I loved getting to watch her grow and fall in love along the way. I am so sad this story is already over but man was it such a wonderful journey.

2/5 for angst

Tropes: guardian x ward, age gap, forbidden, taboo vibes, forced proximity

This has all the tropes I absolute eat up. And while I liked this one, I could easily tell this was some of QB’s earlier work. Her writing has for sure evolved over the years and for me I could just really tell. This didn’t read like her newer books, which is fine, just wasn’t completely expecting the difference to be that noticeable. I still really liked this story and getting to see Cal give in was soooooo hot. The spice in this is very good, like holy hotness. I also think this was missing a bit more of the heavy angst I like with my age gap forbidden romances. We got a little bit at the beginning but overall it was lacking that for me.

Tropes: workplace enemies to lovers, small town

I really adored Easton and Henley’s story. Their chemistry was insane, you can’t help but just scream for them to get together. I loved getting to be back in a Laura Pavlov small town. It’s almost nostalgic feeling at this point, the way her writing just makes you feel all the comfort. Plus can we talk about this beautiful couple cover?! Like absolutely breathtaking!

This is set in the same universe as the Cat & Mouse duet, following Adeline’s grandmother. If you are wanting to read the duet I highly recommend reading it first before jumping into this book! While you don’t have to, it is a much cooler experience. If you aren’t planning to read the duet then jump on in and enjoy these two👏🏻

Tropes: historical mafia vibes, cheating (FMC with MMC), FMC is married to a fuckwit so we love her upgrading, stalker

HD DOES IT AGAIN. Ugh I was so happy we got this story, it was such a sweet surprise. I absolutely adored these two so much. I loved getting to see Gigi and Ronaldo🤭 This was so much fun, Ronaldo is such a top tier book man. I mean the things that he says and does for this woman🫠. PUDDLE ON THE FLOOR. Some of the things both of these two said to each other had me sweating. Gigi is such a force and she wants to do anything to make sure her daughter is cared for. She deserved so much more than her shitty husband and I loved getting to see Ronaldo show her that.

If you love those old time mafia movies or just those vibes in general plus falling in love with your stalker and sticking it to your shitty husband then this will be a perfect read for you!

Thank you so much to HD for an early copy. I am just so giddy we got to experience this story❤️🔪
