The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

It's Survivor where the winner only wins by killing all others while a Jerry Springer audience in the heart of Hollywood applaud each death. Every chapter ends with a plot twist. Definitely could not put it down on first read, and have read it multiple times since picking up all the easter eggs that were missed along the way. While I have heard that critics think Katniss has no improving character arc throughout the series, I applaud Suzanne Collins for describing a character broken by her circumstances who cannot improve. Highly recommended!!
Magnificent Desolation: The Long Journey Home from the Moon by Buzz Aldrin

Buzz is optimistically honest telling his story from the Moon landing to the trials he experienced afterward. He answered a lot of questions I had heard about the astronaut persona. The only thing I didn't like was his repetitve statements. Otherwise, it was an interesting look inside Buzz's head.
