The illustrations were gorgeous but something I notice a lot with DC Comics is how the tone and pacing often feel off for me. I wish Ashley could’ve been fleshed out a little more but this is a very short comic so that’s a factor. I also wish there was more subtle foreshadowing to give a better pay off for the victory. I understand it’s for a younger audience but some of the dialogue felt too on the nose.

I loved every minute of this story and the audiobook elevated it to another level. It was really nice to see Mari learn about the family she hadn’t met before. I absolutely love the ghost element and everything tied together beautifully. I was in tears by the end.

This was a fun, quick audiobook to put on while cleaning. It was nice to see Alexis’ backstory and it’s a super steamy novella.

I need everyone to get into this masterpiece! Laure was a perfect anti-hero. I kept yelling at the book as if she could hear me but I also understood her motivations. This one kept me on my toes the entire time reading and the writing style was beautiful. I can’t wait to read more from Jamison Shea!

Any time someone tries to use pinkwashing to defend Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, give them this book.

These illustrations were breathtaking! I felt like I was watching a Pixar short while reading this one.

The illustrations and story work together perfectly.
