I got chills reading this. The illustrations are gorgeous and it tells a much needed story. I’m glad picture books like this one exist today.

This was such a heartfelt story about navigating a bicultural experience. Mia really does read as a 12 year old and this is a story I’ll definitely find myself recommending to kids.

I've been waiting for this to come out ever since seeing Jill and Derek in Shiny Happy People. I am so glad that Jill has found the courage to speak out about her experiences growing up in the Duggar household. I hope this encourages her other siblings to speak out and other people who grew up as reality TV stars with little to no personal protection. The level of financial abuse she received from her father was heartbreaking.
I read Jinger's book earlier this year and Jill approaches things very differently. Jill focuses more on making this a memoir about her personal experiences, whereas Jinger emphasizes her faith journey. It’s interesting to see how each of them has told their stories.

Thrillers with social commentary are honestly the best thrillers. This book is so entertaining! I couldn’t put it down for the most part and it kept me on my toes. There were several points where I thought I knew what was going to happen or what the big reveal was but then I was absolutely wrong and that honestly made me love this book even more. Their Vicious Games deals with racism, classism, and the patriarchy in such an intriguing way. I’ll be recommending this to everyone I know.
I wanted to love this book so bad, especially since I've seen it on so many Black romance lists but this was a major disappointment. I hated the constant homeless "joke." It wasn't funny the first time and it definitely wasn't funny the dozens of times afterward. I didn't like the subtle pro-cop points. They're not a major point of the plot but that's something that will always give me the ick. The constant run-ins with the terrible ex got so annoying and honestly, this whole book was incredibly repetitive. I love a good no thoughts, just vibes romance but this was not the one.
I decided to read this after watching the show. It was interesting but I really think the show elevated the concept and I’m so mad it didn’t get a second season. This is one of the few times where I recommend the adaptation over the original.
I read this for a book club at my local library. It's one of those books I'd seen a million times but probably wouldn't have picked up on my own because I prefer shorter romances. This was a fun read and I think the romance aspect is very well done. The chemistry between these two was palpable. There were a lot of side characters and it was easy to confuse them or forget some altogether (I still have no idea who Chase is). Overall, fun read and great for book clubs.

I’ve been putting off finishing this book for a while and honestly, I was intimidated. This has such big brain energy and there were some days, weeks, a month where I needed the space to process just how large these concepts were. The world building was absolutely amazing and though there are many characters, none feel unnecessary. Every one of these characters feels so real and their reality is just as complicated and layered as my own. I am both excited and terrified for the sequel.

Short stories are often my least read and least enjoyed genre but I absolutely loved this collection. Maybe it’s my own religious trauma speaking, but this really healed something in me. Each story was so distinct and I felt connected to so many of the characters. I love the way family and romantic relationships were explored, especially with the characters that were grappling with their sexuality in relation to religion. This is a masterpiece!

This was so much fun to read! The conflict between Sadie and Clip was done wonderfully and the pacing was great. It didn’t feel rushed but also didn’t drag. I love the friend group and I’m excited to see more of their adventures in book 2.
