This was such a sweet read. I saw it at the library and though “hmm, I’ve heard of that one.” The cursive was a fun touch, though hard to decipher at times because of my American education. I loved the illustrations.

If it weren’t for my AI class, I would’ve never known about this book. Oh, how I long for the days before I knew this existed.
informative

I read this for my AI class. I'm still gathering my thoughts together but overall, it was interesting to see all these different stories and authors placed in conversation with one another. It honestly left me wanting to read every novel that Sanchez-Taylor mentioned.

This series has me in the strongest chokehold known to man... and I can’t even be mad at it. I wish I could get through all remaining volumes in a single sitting but that would require being able to see into Brian K. Vaughan’s head and my psychic powers never came through, even after puberty :(

I absolutely loved this! As someone who's a self-declared scaredy cat, this was the perfect mix of mystery and suspense with a dash of skin crawling descriptions. I'm glad there were a lot of "good" ghosts, especially Lucely’s family and the found family elements were so great! It was such a fun take on the classic ghost stories that we can't help loving. This is well worth the read. Now I've got to convince my younger cousins to read it, too.
slow-paced

I read this for my AI class and it's one of those stories that I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own. I ended up enjoying it, though the writing style did feel a bit dry at times. It was such an interesting story and I think it's one that will be all the more relevant as metaverses continue to play a big part in the lives of so many of us.

I feel like this would be a great read for teens. The plot is a bit dark but I really liked the MC Lolo Wright. This would probably be good for fans of DC comics. I will say that some of the exposition was a little much and I wish it had been a series instead of a standalone.

I finally got around to reading this and I can see why it’s so well loved. The story was great and I enjoyed the characters. I liked how things came together in such beautiful ways and the family relationships were portrayed so well. There were a few points where the pacing felt a little slow for me personally, but overall this was a great read.

This was such a fun read! It’s fast paced, quirky, and as others have probably said a thousand times over, perfect for fans of Scott Pilgrim. I found myself putting it down halfway through last night so I’d have some more to read today. Definitely what I needed after a heavy week of classes.

This was an absolute masterpiece and it has me drowning in my own tears. The depiction of mental illness, treatment, and relapse was done wonderfully. As someone who has worked on mental illness advocacy, I think this book is perfect for teens and the way it depicts addressing these things and having conversations with trusted adults was just perfect. I love the emphasis on community and how the relationships outside of romantic ones add so much to your life and are extremely necessary, especially when you’re struggling with mental illness. I would highly recommend this to readers of all ages but especially to young teens and parents or people who work with teens. There’s so much that can be learned from the way that the teens and adults interact in this story. It doesn’t depict the parents and teachers as clueless or bigoted. It shows them as trying their best in the ways they know how.
