I am FINALLY getting around to reading this. my all time favorite anime and I still haven't read the manga which is a shame but I am now and it's already so good :") the memories are flooding in with each page.

I really do like this manga series but I'm just not a big fan of SOL to be honest. compared to other SOL I've read before, this is definitely one of my favorites. the art style is simple but incredibly consistent. the characters are all very well written and the whole manga is cute, fuzzy and wholesome.

I really am trying my best to rate each volume based on how much I liked them separately but I find it hard forgetting the events of the last two volumes when the protagonist is acting like nothing happened.

It's nice to see his past and the contrasts between his status back then and where he has ended up now, drawing parallels between him and the old man he used to see when looking out the window.

I'm happy we're exploring more of the homunculi and seeing different people's deformities because this time, we actually get explanations and they make sense.

okayyy this is really tripping me out. I'm not sure how I feel about him stitching his right eye because prior to that, everytime he would close his right eye, I would just scream internally for him to close it. I get that it's just in his nature to be curious but he really overdid it.

now that the right eye is sealed forever, I doubt we'll ever get to see somebody normal again. I don't get the fish in the tank thing and the volume ended directly in the middle so I hope the next explains things better.

this volume was mostly talk and little to no action which I don't mind because the subject was interesting and amusing but then it started getting a little more to the repetitive side.

so the hole in Nakoshi's forehead is closed and he can't see homunculi anymore? that sucks but I doubt it'll last long. I can't bring myself to root for the protagonist because he's a very morally grey character or even somewhat dark grey. his actions aren't moral at all but it's nice to see a protagonist that isn't a hero for once.

the new friend's identity is still a mystery and this volume lacked Kenji. I don't know why he's so excluded despite not bring there for like 15 volumes. he needs more screentime.

I had a few issues with the series as a whole but I'm really glad I read it. Immediately one of my favorites.
