I loved this book. I loved watching Quinn grow to love herself and become more comfortable with her Blackness. I love how the book talks about the struggles of growing up black in a predominantly white area/school and being called an “Oreo” or “not black enough” or having our feelings about racial issues cast aside bc “we’re basically white” it’s annoying and I felt so seen knowing that I wasn’t the only one who went through that. I wasn’t the only one who didn’t feel black enough. I also loved Carter and how much he loved Imani and watching how hard he worked to make sure she didn’t grow up with “daddy issues” like he did. Watching him and Olivia help Quinn become more comfortable in her skin was so nice. I also loved how it touched on the topic of self hatred in the black community with her dad. The only problem I had was
how Matt kind of just disappeared. In the beginning she was pretty adamant about not losing his friendship bc it was 10 years long and he meant a lot to her. But after she lost her journal and started hanging out with Carter and them, she stopped talking to Matt and was even ignoring his text. It was all just really weird to me especially bc he didn’t do anything to deserve it. He was a pretty good friend.
Overall this book was so good and I’m definitely buying a copy.

So good I loved how it was the girl who was pining/groveling after the guy this time. I also loved how she made the first move and she was one the one who did the grand gesture to win him back. She was also super relatable and I loved that about her.  Also it had one of my favorite tropes where they’re enemies but actually one of them has secretly been in love with the other for forever. I LOVE that trope so much and this book had it.

I was really disappointed with this book. Everything was so fast paced and we didn’t get any real closure with it. I thought reading this book would help close the halter of the off campus characters, but instead I’m wondering what’s gonna happen next in their lives bc we just found out they’re either pregnant with twins or moving to New York. There was no character development and with Garrett especially his character became worse. I wasn’t impressed with this book and could’ve gone without reading it

The book was good the only reason I took points off was bc I got really bored with it at times. It was really up and down. One minute I’d be super into it then the next I’d be super bored and unable to pick the book back up. Towards the beginning it was the past that really bored me bc I really just wanted to know about her and Henry not about how her curse was started and her childhood and all that. But then towards the end/middle her past was kind of interesting and I was more into it. But when they talked about her starving and her journey into understand the limits of her curse, I was really bored with that.

Such a good book Vivi is so amazing and so is Jonah I love them both. I think this book really fits the right person wrong time thing. They were perfect for each other
and I think if they had met after she accepted her bipolar disorder and after she got comfortable with herself and her treatment and also after Jonah figured everything out with his family. They wouldve lasted. On the other hand him and Ellie have a special kind of bond and I could definitely see them getting married and having a future together.
