Holy jingle balls! š³š³š³ I am deceased! Absolutely DECEASED! Kingstonā¦ the things he saidā¦ the things he didā¦ š®āšØš„µšµ Going into a book by these ladies, no matter how big or small, you already know itās going to be wild and absolutely filthy! Yet somehow every single MF time they get me. Iām caught off guard by just how naughty these crazy AF men are that they write - regardless of how prepared I am to meet them. š«£š
I canāt even believe this was a Christmas gift to their readers because I feel like I should have paid damn good money for the things I just witnessed inside my imagination. šš„
Lawd have mercy donāt yāall ever EVER stop writing. I donāt care what anyone says I will forever need your psycho men, dirty words, and taboo AF stories in my life! š«¶š»š¤
PS ~ if thatās a nightmare how do I have one?! š¤£š¤£
**Check the TW before reading because if you donāt know by now how dark their books get - well Iām not gonna lie this might not be the story for you. š
Well, K. Webster has brought us back into the wilderness of Alaska with a new generation full of angst, drama, and even more taboo deliciousness! Reed and Devon have raised quite the family and built an impressive home in their secluded area of the wild. But when youāre tucked away from civilization with growing teens/young adults itās easy for lines to get blurred.
Thereās tension between parent and child, tension between siblings, fear of acceptance from family members, feeling trapped and craving independence, jealousy, and possessiveness galore. And thatās just from the kids! When the opportunity arises to meet new people and break up the monotony of their lives a little some of them jump at the chance while others are more cautious leading to even more tension and discourse among them. At the same time, it makes their complicated feelings towards each other harder to ignore and even harder to not act on them. Until the moment it all goes up in flames.
The spice is limited between the kids as this is the beginning of their story but the sexual tension and buildup we get balances that out nicely. Then of course we still get some good spice from Daddy Reed and Devon. š The plot is suspenseful and will have you anxiously turning to the next page to watch it all unfold. Then thereās the endingā¦ whoa I was not prepared for that ending! Talk about a nail-biter moment that had me wanting to smash my Kindle! š« I completely forgot that this was the first of several books in this new generationās series until that moment and I am positively hooked on this story!
I will be not so patiently awaiting the next book's release and crossing my fingers that itās in the near future!! Gah I have missed this world!!
So pay no attention to the fact that it took me months to finish this book because I assure you that it in no way reflects how much I did or didn't like it. I'm a mood reader so I often put books aside to come back and finish later. That is exactly what I did with this one and I'm glad I did. When I started this book I wasn't in the right mood to read it. I got less than 10% into it and only picked it up occasionally to read a chapter before putting it back down. I'm not going to lie the first portion of the book was a tad difficult to get through because of the events that take place and how vividly it is described. So absolutely heed those trigger warnings because it is dark.
Once I really got back into it however I couldn't put it down! Derek is such a captivating and twisted character you can't help but get sucked in by his story. His journey for revenge is understandable and heartbreaking but he also stumbles across a little bit of light in the darkness that is his life along the way. I adored the unexpected friendship he develops with one of the side characters and loved how it showed a different side of him. It also highlighted how everyone needs someone to care about them unconditionally even if they aren't aware that they do.
Then we come to the part of the story where the plot is beginning to twist and let me just say I didn't know my heart could break anymore for Derek until this moment. Quite a bit happens and in my opinion, it alters the path he was on and will lead him down an even darker road than before. I cannot wait to see how this story continues in the next book. The spice was minimal in this one but given the nature of the storyline I would have been somewhat surprised if it popped up more than what it does so it works perfectly this way.
If you like villains who are super twisted with zero apologies, no remorse, and low chances of being redeemed then this is a book for you.
Decided to listen to this series since my husband did and he loved it. I'm not going to lie it took me some time to get used to the narration but overall it was ok by the time I got almost halfway through with it. I love the world building and the mystery behind deaths in the castle gave it a suspenseful feeling that had me wanting to continue on with the book. The different relationships building has me excited to carry on with this series and to see where those eventually wind up going.
It is one of those books that feels like it goes on forever but I encourage you to stick with it because it gets better the farther into it you get. You can tell things are building up to something and I have a feeling by the end of the series it could be a new favorite. I will say I would love for this one to have the dramatized adaptation like the A Court of Thorns and Roses series does but the story is interesting enough that the narration doesn't deter me from listening to the original audio.
Gah I didn't realize how much I have missed Reed and Devon until returning to this wild world! This story is a great way to segue between their book and the next generation's stories. It gives us a look at their life after The Wild and The Free. We get to see what became of their family and get glimpses of what the kids are like. There's even some spicy time with Reed and Devon which is always appreciated because Reed is still smoking hot no matter what age he is now lol! This has me even more excited for The Untamed coming out soon and I cannot wait to read it!
Ok - the fact that Bronwyn prefers the outspoken and feisty Livia over the quiet and submissive omega sheās expected to be is what I loved most about this book. In fact, it seems like most of the omegas in this series are far from a pushover and it only has their alpha falling even harder for them. That is something I can get behind, haha, so Iām positive thatās a big part of why I like this series.
The spice is always good and the dirty talking from Bronwyn is steamy AF. I like how heās aware of Livia being inexperienced and wants to do right by her but also struggles to keep his control with her. And even though sheās inexperienced Livia lets go and lets her instincts guide her. It makes her so confident and sexy in that moment that itās sort of inspiring.
The plot was good even if it frustrated me some in the beginning lol. I was so mad at Bronwyn and Livia. I just wanted to smack them and scream at them to just talk to each other instead of dancing around the elephant in the room. But it added some tension to the relationship so I knew it would eventually pass and dealt with it. However, the further into the story I got, I was very pleased by the role Livia was able to play. I was so proud of them both by the end I could forgive the lack of communication in the beginning.
I canāt wait to see whatās next from this author.
I adore this version of Archer so much more than I did before! He is so much more than what I initially thought and I am so glad that this book shows the other side of him. I really like Mac's character as well and that he goes into their relationship eyes wide open and with little hesitancy. They are such a great match and he fits right in with the Mulvaney's like he was always meant to be there.
I also loved all of the time the other characters get in this book. We get to see quite a bit of Noah and Adam in this one which is always a plus because they were the first couple and bring something extra special to the scene when they are included. Not to mention drunk Noah is hysterical! Liam did fabulous as always on the narration for this and had very distinctive voices for every single character. I swear he is a one-person multicast - it's phenomenal!
Now I need to hurry up and get to the last book since the audio is out because the way this one ended has me dying to know the story behind Thomas Mulvaney!!
Well, Becca has done it againā¦ she has taken two characters and made my heart soar over their love story!
In Collided we find Coleās mom dropping the bomb in his lap that she is getting married to her boss. Heās stunned since he didnāt even know they were a couple. They move in with her soon-to-be husband shortly after where Cole comes face to face with Huxley - his new stepbrother. In case you didnāt guess it they he hates Cole with a passion. Even with all their attempts at staying away from each other life has other plans and they soon discover that hatred is not the only thing theyāre feeling.
For starters, I love how Becca writes her shorter books. They never feel like theyāre short when reading them. The pacing is always equivalent to that of a longer novel and you get plenty of story without that rushed feeling. These characters are somehow likable even when theyāre not (ahem Huxley) [and how cute is the name Huxley?! Such a good name and one I donāt see often.] I loved how they reluctantly spend time together and wind up getting to see each other in a different way. The way their relationship develops into what it becomes is incredibly sweet and so genuine. Everything about these two just makes you smile as you follow their story and root for their happiness. Oh, and that ending was amazing! The last chapter or two and the epilogue - SO good! šš»
There is just something about the guys in this series that stands out from all the others. Whether they are enemies to lovers or friends to lovers they each find this connection that just makes you want to squeal with joy as they finally give in and admit their feelings. Their love feels like you could reach out and physically touch it because of the way Becca writes them. Iām so glad we got this prequel story and I cannot wait to add a physical copy to my shelf with the others!
How am I supposed to wait for the next book in this series?! Iām so ready for the sequel itās so beyond not being funny. š
So we have our FMC Ren attending her mom's funeral and as soon as itās over her dad whisks her away from the only place sheās ever called home and the two people she needs to most. Moving from Canada to Portland wasnāt the biggest shock sheād face though. Her dad informs her that she will be attending a boarding school called Wayward Academy. Furious with her father and bitter over the whole situation sheās never felt more alone. However, her plan to get through school so she can get far away from the place and her dad might just be more difficult than she anticipated when she catches the eye of the Kings of Wayward Academy.
I loved the way this story builds and unfolds! It feels a little like a tv series in that way. Things are moving slowly but at a steady pace. There are small time jumps here and there but nothing major as well as some flashback moments to fill in some of the gaps from their past and backgrounds. It gave me that satisfying lengthy book feel yet it read fast so I didnāt feel like it was just dragging on and on the whole time. It consistently kept my attention from start to finish which is a big deal for me lol.
The characters are fantastic as well and I found myself grinning and giggling for the majority of the book. Myles is just as cute and can be! I swear I didnāt think heād be my favorite at the beginning especially once we got to see more of Nash. However, that puppy dog energy he gives off while still having that I will unalive you bad boy vibe is an addicting combination. Heās the perfect blend of sweet and naughty and I just love him!! And Ren - omg Ren - she is a girl after my own heart! The way she refuses to be walked on and always sticks up for herself no matter who itās against had me falling in love with her character pretty much instantly. I love that she can be terrified yet sheās determined to stand her ground and not be pushed around. Sheās cautious and doesnāt trust easily so sheās really making these guys work for it. Itās the best thing ever to see them bickering back and forth with her.
Now for the spice - do not go into this expecting lots of hot and steamy moments. The spice is supposed to build as the series progresses after all. But I did think that the tension and flirting were steamy enough to where I didnāt really miss the big spicy moments. I mean am I ready for them? Absolutely lol! But the book was just so good without them that I hardly even noticed until I was finished. š¤·š»āāļø
As for the storyline Iām so invested in how this is going to play out. Iām really liking all the mystery behind Ren and her father and what led them to this place. Then thereās an entirely different mystery going on surrounding the guys and what theyāve been up to before Ren came into the picture. Iām not quite sure yet if I think those two things will eventually overlap or if one has anything to do with the other but itās definitely got my wheels turning with all the possibilities. Iād now like to take a moment to thank Brooklyn for the ending. This is a cliffhanger I can live with haha. Itās pretty good and had me going āohhhhā and āhmmmā without throwing my Kindle across the room. š¤£ Appreciate it! š«¶š»š
Ugh, Iām just so ready for the next book itās unreal. š
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

After the gasp-inducing ending of book one, Unbreakable picks up with Nova and the guys moving forward with their mission. Only now the objective has shifted somewhat to include taking down the man who twisted her childhood into something out of a horror movie - her father. They know he is determined to retrieve his greatest experiment and there is no end to the lengths heās willing to go to get Nova back in his grasp. But Nova is about to show him that his greatest achievement could be his greatest downfall.
I already felt so bad for Nova and her men after the lives theyāve lived. Then here comes book two pouring more salt in their wounds. The horrible things that Nova has to endure in this book had my stomach doing flips. But the strength she exudes throughout its entirety is so inspiring that it made it easier to read through it. She is tough as nails with a heart of gold and I just adore her character.
Then of course there are the guys who are all so amazing in their own unique ways. Each one has an important role to play within their dynamic and they work together so well itās sometimes easy to forget theyāve all come from pasts similar to Novaās. But let me tell you none of them make me smile as much as Jonas! The guy is a special kind of unhinged but at the same time heās like a little puppy! Heās just so freaking adorable I canāt stand it lol! Oh, and the fact that he likes his ātoysā doesnāt hurt eitherā¦ š
So yea itās a great duet that is dark, has a feisty FMC, a wild group of guys, and a crap ton of spice! And I mean gooooood spice! š
*Donāt forget to check the TW on this one cause it absolutely has some dark moments.*
