The P*ssy Next Door by Amy Award
4.5
As is the case for every book in this series it was a delightful and funny time. That said, this one felt like the most basic in the entire series. I still enjoyed it and, of course, felt that all of the characters were highly endearing and amusing. I also loved the Pooh reference, which will always give a book an additional quarter star in my book (ratings are subjective anyway)
The Trouble with Love and Coaches by Harriet Ashford
I will admit I do have one complaint. I wanted even more of the adorable pup, Johnson. You cannot introduce such an adorable character and not include him on nearly every page. In all seriousness, he is wonderful, and better find his way into other books in this series.
Harriet did a fantastic job of implementing the concept of wandering minds. The characters' internal tangents felt very realistic and naturally propelled the story. Seeing them try too hard to control their thoughts and utterly fail was relatable in an endearing and entertaining way.
She also tackled grief beautifully. April is still grieving over her mother, as grief isn't linear. I loved how it shaped her character arc but didn't take it over entirely. As someone who has dealt with grief (as I am sure most of us have), this portrayal felt like a warm hug telling me it would all be okay. April doesn't succeed in spite of her grief; she succeeds because of how much she cares about who she lost. I cannot convey how much that seemingly subtle difference means.
Oh man, the ending of this book brought me to tears for sure. For good reasons, I promise. That said, I will not elaborate to avoid spoilers, just know that it will make you feel. You will feel sad, proud, and elated all at once if your experience is at all similar to mine.
This book does have open-door spicy scenes. If that is not your thing, I do not recommend this series.

I already knew from the first page this was going to be a 5-star and I was so right! I don't know what magic you dump into your stories Harriet, but never stop because I will read and love every single one.

I loved this one even more. Seeing a greater variety of characters was lovely
Again!!, Vol. 1 by Mitsurou Kubo

I will admit the MMC in this one is kind scary looking, especially at first but it is something you can get used to. I did find myself surprisingly sucked into the story. I didn't know what to expect going in and now I'm invested. I am going to start volume 2 right now.
About That Kiss by Harper Bliss

A delightful FF romance story. I loved seeing them both growing together and showing the implications of being queer in the entertainment industry. If you are looking for a solid queer story I recommend this one.
My only complaint is that there didn't feel like anything made this story stand out. I kept waiting for something special to happen that sets this book apart but it never came. As such, my rating is a bit lower as I am always looking to be wowed. I was pleased but not wowed.
This story does a fantastic job of demonstating different perspectives people have when coming to terms with their queer identity and if/how they want to share that with the world. Those different journeys contrast each other yet still play well together.
This book has open-door spice scenes. That said, they can be skipped without missing too much of the plot.

Hired by my rich highland husband by Beatrice Bradshaw

I had a spectacular time reading this one. It was the perfect blend of humor and swoony romance with a lovely Scottish flair to boot. If you are looking for heartwarming characters that will stand up for themselves, Beatrice has always got you covered and this book is no exception.
I found myself laughing out loud countless times while reading this one. It truly was a simply wonderful and amusing time to read. One of my favorite funny lines was "Mr. Darcy's emotionally constipated Scottish cousin" to describe Max. It is both hilarious and a wildly apt description. If that sounds up your alley, I highly recommend this book.
My only criticism of this book is quite small. The perspective of this book did feel a bit odd to me. While always in the third person, it did ping pong between mentioning internal thoughts and perspectives of Max and Rowan a lot. This made it a smidge hard to follow at times, but it was overall not a major issue.
I adore the dynamic between Max and Rowan. They are on surprisingly even footing and butt heads in the best way possible. Seeing them grow and develop was highly refreshing and exactly what I'm looking for in my ideal romance.
This book does contain a few spicy scenes that weave into the plot. If spice is not your thing, this book is probably not for you.
I received this book as an arc from the author. My review is honest and voluntary.

Be Prepared by Vera Brosgol

This was a fun middle grade graphic novel heavily rooted in a true story. It was interesting to see a first-hand perspective of a Russian scouting camp in the US. If you are a scout or know a scout, I highly recommend it. It's an easy and quick read with a beautifully limited color palette

I like the combination of the different timelines. My favorite aspect of this story is how the main couple almost seems overly perfect at first, it really hooked me into the story.
Overall I did enjoy this one pretty well, I just wanted to see more character development.
