First of all, Holly Renee is an angel for putting a pronunciation guide at the beginning of the book. Other fantasy authors with made up names should take note! The plot lines of this book have me GRIPPED, a power hungry king’s powerless daughter falls for the rebel captain.. add in some super addictive side characters.. this one was short and sweet and let me wanting more.

This book releases 3/19. Preorder on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your indie bookstores. Will also be on KU

What happens when the hot chick and the NFL QB meet and get drunk in Vegas? They get married duh.. but what happens when the equally quick divorce doesn’t come through, thanks to a judge that wants to punish the QB for trading? Their knot stays tied for a solid month. But, can they keep from falling for each other in the mean time.

Y’all. Crew Matthews is an elite dirty talker, and really likes to share.. And Elenor.. well that pushes all her slut buttons. The spice in this one will have you swooning and sweating at the same damn time. I read this thing in one sitting, when nothing else seemed to want to really hold my attention for more than an hour. It was the perfect slump buster and palette cleanser. We also got a bit of time with Nate and TJ… and holy Moses, I am beyond excited for their book next month.

Willa is a survivor. She has survived sadistic men, addiction, mob hits, and more. Lucifer Flynn was her father’s mentor. After becoming the widow of an arranged marriage in a rival family, she has returned to the home of her father’s protégé, a promised woman to Lucifer’s Identical twin. Will Lucifer be the boy she met under the apple tree as a child, who showed her kindness, or will she meet the devil of Boston? This book has a lot of dark themes. Willa has lived in this darkness since she was barely a teenager. (Check your triggers going in!!!) Lucifer hasn’t had it much easier than she has, and has developed a reputation as unfeeling and emotionless as a result. Can Willa pierce his emotionless shell and give him the love he hasn’t known in years, can Lucifer earn her trust and find a way for them to be together?

She was a dark one.. but so well paced and well written.. the ending left me wanting more and the side characters are delightful. Keegan’s book is going to be hysterical. I can’t wait.

This is one of those books that you know is going to gut you like a fish after you read the prologue. If you have ever felt the weight of high expectations, if you have carried someone else’s hopes and dreams, this book is gonna hit deep. If you have lived in the shadow of mental health but tried to only show the light to the rest of the world. It’s gonna hit deep. If you have felt unworthy of love, it’s gonna hit deep. Bailey is a ballerina at Juilliard, trying to push her way through an injury to keep her mothers pro dancer dreams going… and swan dives from Grace. Lev, is carrying the mantle of his fathers pro footballer dreams alive, he’s got the talent, but not the passion. They have been BFF’s since birth. This friends to lovers story has some spice, some swoon worthy dialogue, some dark and difficult themes, and the happiest ending. It was quick paced and kept you saying ..”just one more chapter.” Highly recommend for those days where you just want to feel something. Ugh.. I’m going to be sitting on the aftermath of feelings from this one for a minute.

“Don’t be so quick to throw away your humanity, Oraya,” he said. “You might find you miss it once it’s gone.”

I’ve been in a slump.. and really struggled to choose a book. So I let others pick my read, this won by a landslide and after finishing it, I totally get it. First the formatting on this was beautiful. 7 parts each broken into chapters, it made this busy mom able to get through it either in small bits or big ones and have perfect pause points. Not that it mattered much, I devoured it. Oraya.. her inner voice is so relatable and as a character she was written clearly enough you could feel what she was feeling in every moment. Vincent was the picture of the calculated cruel king to the end, and Raihn… the man can perform with the best. I’m still reeling from him. This book is a slow burn, with only a couple spicy bits, and more twists and turns than a back country road. Great read!

From a romance perspective… She’s a super slow burn. And I mean super slow. But romance is no where near the star of the show here. We have old friends and teams give way to new. We have Tizmet and her heart wrenching back story, and penchant for throwing lords off cliffs and drawing blood. We have captures, rescues, and vengeance. Avyanna finds the magic in being who she is, and leans into her bonds. Bonds with her dragon, bonds with her mother, bonds with her found family. She finds inner strength and courage she never would have thought possible at the beginning of book one. And our general… well I am not sure all the dungeons in the realm could hold him back from his soulmate. His POV’s at the end of the books are just… gloriously brutish and domineering. Overall this book will bring you cackles of glee, tears, gasps in fear, shrieks of frustration and anger. Allllll the emotions. I’m hooked. I want more.

“You’re like a feral kitten. Cute and fluffy, but wild and dangerous when cornered.” -Rafe

Poor Sweet Avyanna. This sweet girl is an absolute disaster when it comes to critical thinking before decisions. Her young age absolutely shows in her very optimistic outlook when making any choice in the first 2/3 of the book. A terrifying event changes her in a soul deep way that alters that thought process and she is able to be much more realistic through the end. Girlfriend gets stuff done, even if she does whine about it the whole time in her inner monologue. And as a mom, that resonated with me. Sometimes you gotta just boss up.

Rafe, her big bear of a general, takes special interest in her. He challenges her world view, the way she views her self, and her future. He is a full on grump with every one but gives sweet Vy the cinnamon roll side underneath. He’s full of secrets I can’t wait to unravel, and a savage need to protect his band of misfits that it makes a girl swoon.

And the ending.. had I gone into this blind and not read a bunch of stuff about book 2 before jumping in.. my jaw would have been on the floor.

If you wanted to love Fourth Wing, but couldn’t get into the writing style. Give this one a try instead. Lots of similar elements, wholly different style.
