I just didn't care for Deepa's shallowness and materialism - I get it, but I didn't care for it. I did like the later-in-life exploration of her sexuality though.

Loved the world building, it is a bit gothic steampunk but also modern? I really enjoyed all the characters and the fact that they had distinct voices/personalities-I was quite invested in them!

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

The only issues I had were some repetitive word choices (“book it”) and that the spice wasn’t my thing - it seemed slightly out of character for Sebastian? I felt he would be sweeter, but that is probably just my opinion. I ended up skimming through most of the spice 🤪

Great anthology! I would say about 2/3 of the stories were close to 4 star.

“Only you. There’s only ever been you.”
“We’ll never be done. Me and you, we don’t have an ending.”

My poor heart while reading this❤️‍🔥 I do not have the words to tell you how much I loved this story - it was beautiful!

In all honesty I feel like I shouldn't have liked this as much as I did 🤭 I generally do not like enemies to lovers - I just don't get that appeal. However, these two emotionally stunted train wrecks grappling with their emotions were amusing and kept me engaged with the story. A lot of their fights didn't make sense and I felt they should have grown a bit faster. Alas, I am still planning on reading the next two 🤔

The beating up each other thing was the hardest to handle. I get it, they are rivals but still. Just because they are guys it is ok for them to physically hurt one another?

“Everything he’d ever hoped for was within his grasp, but when you spent your entire life in survival mode, yearning for something, it became impossible to stop and appreciate it.”

Ok, they are better in book 2…still disasters but the physical violence isn’t a thing as much.
