Yeah just couldn't get past the psuedo incest yes the love interests aren't related by blood  but they do share a half brother. William is Jeremy's half brother on Jeremy's father's side via a mistress and Mina is Jeremy's half sister via their mother.
It was so disturbing how the author basically wrote incest with out doing so.
Also William is even a good husband. Their marriage felt stale and boring.
Also lets not forget the blatant misogyny with in the book.

I won't lie i did like Charlotte but I didn't like Gabriel. At first i could look past his behavior because he didn't know why Charlotte was the way she was but after he did his behavior was honestly very annoying.
I feel as if the relationship moved way to quickly considering Charlotte's trauma and his position over her and yes i know it's fictional, but there is a woman out there with the same trauma as Charlotte and they shouldn't be rushed. It would be nice to see Gabriel take his time with her and then slowly come on to her sexually. Honestly that would've been more attractive then the mucho man act. Now i will say Gabriel isn't all that bad. He is patient to a degree and despite being a bit of an ass at work he does know how to make Charlotte happy and not just sexually but with little.things like coffee treats and so on.

This is what I get for trying to try out a new trope. I've never been so frustrated with grown adults in my entire life and that's saying a lot. I'm not expecting the story to be realistic after all it is supposed to be an escape from reality but I am expecting the author to at least have some type of basis within reality.
The whole story revolves around the main character hiding the fact that she has a child in which we barely get to see until halfway through the story. The reaction of the male main character when he finds out that he is a father of that child is so unrealistic that it honestly made me cringe.
And to top it off, as someone who grew up reading Wattpad and loving and also despising the stories this story reads like one of the ones that I despised. "our tongues battled for dominance" and the usage of the word "orbs".
I will try to give one more book by this author chance. . .
