the story is graphic but it's graphic for a reason. It follows an abus victim that escaped his abuse and the emotional turmoil he goes through and guilt. Sadly a lot of SA victims do know their abusers and sadly they do love them so to see that he loved his abuser was realistic. 
I do have to say the two love interest having intercourse felt very abrupt but that also made sense since some  SA victims do hypersexualize themselves
