Great book about God’s life changing power! Louis let God use his life to help others. I can only hope I can leave that type of impact on the world.

I read this book as someone who is not  invested in the tabloids and the monarchy of the United Kingdom.
I enjoyed this book because I learned about Prince Harry and his family. I couldn’t imagine what it has  been like for him and his family. It’s a sad story and I’m praying that they reconcile.

Ross is a seventh grader who is diagnosed with eye cancer who is navigating being sick, friendships, and school.
The book focuses on the power of friendship, family and having people to help you carry your boulder.
I loved this book!
The Batpig comic strips and Ross’s friendship with Abby.

It’s based on the authors experience with cancer.

This was a sweet book that had me laughing. I like how the coach was holding the football players to a higher standard on and off the field.

I also liked the puns about Ben’s name. Example: What Might Have Ben?

One thing I didn’t like was when Jess said things like” I prayed to whoever cared about football games”.

Overall, it was good book with a great storyline.

This is an emotional read. It shocked me how things like this were occurring in 1973. The author is a great storyteller and you can tell that she did her research about this part of history.
I loved the character Civil. She is very relatable because just like her I struggle with trying to save people.
Here are quotes stood out to me :
“ You can lose yourself in other people’s sorrow. “
“ I understand how a person could get so caught up in doing good that they forget that the people they serve had lives of their own.”

Warnings: There are some cuss words and the n-word is used but it didn’t take away from the story.

This Little Light of Mine: The Life of Fannie Lou Hamer by Kay Mills

I loved how Fannie Lou Hamer stood firm that all people are worthy to be treated with dignity and respect. She was God-fearing, kind, loving strong and courageous woman. The song “This Little Light of Mine” fits her perfectly because she let her light shine for God. The scriptures Matthew 5:14-16 best describe how she lived her life.

The verses Jeremiah 29:11-13 fits this story perfectly. One of the themes in the story is to trust God and to have faith. The sovereignty of God is very much apparent in this story. From Isabella coming back to her hometown as her dad is sick and Tucker is praying about a new wife. Such a sweet story. ❤️
