Scrolling through Instragram reels during reading slump made me read this haha.
It was just okay, not very memorable. The last half felt a bit forced and rushed. I wasn't convinced by the intimacy by the main characters. The smut scenes were less than decent. But overall it was a fun read that stopped my reading slump.

Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Under the Whispering Door is the second book I've read by TJ Klune. I think The House in the Cerulean Sea is better, but UTWD was still a good read.
The book talks about life, death, grief, falling behind, and regret. I loved the diversity of characters shown and how life after death is portrayed. I also liked how you could see how Wallace grew throughout the story. As you go along, you get to reflect on his past actions along with him. You go on a rollercoaster of emotions, but no matter what, you root for him to always be better.
For me, the pacing and overall plot of the book were good, but I waited for them to be better. There were definitely funny, sad, and reflective moments in the book, but I think they weren't memorable enough to leave me with a book hangover. The ending for me was a bit predictable. I wish something had been changed (like Wallace actually going to the door instead of being a reaper) , but overall, it was alright.
I would definitely recommend Under the Whispering Door. Although it's not necessarily my cup of tea, I know many would enjoy it.

We live, and we breathe. We die, and we still feel like breathing. It’s not always the big deaths, either. There are little deaths, because that’s what grief is.

A fun and fast read.
Some of the plot twists were a little predictable. The writing just was alright, it hooked me from the very start. The characters were plain but at the same time crazy, haha.
Overall, it was a fun book to read in one sitting. It helped heal my reading slump.
At the very moment Henry Winter was introduced, I thought at one point Adam will sleep with him (ig not lol).

It was okay.
I didn't love the book. It was targeted at a younger audience. But it was definitely a good audiobook to listen to while cleaning. And it did its purpose.
The book started with three best friends who dared to stay in the haunted house for an hour. And together, they solve the mystery of whether the house is really haunted or not.

River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer
Reading this book was hard, but at the same time, it was powerful, raw, and hopeful. I feel for the characters, for their stories, for their frustration, and for their fight for freedom. I love how you can see the powerful bond between family, the love of a mother, and the hardships of the people around Rachel's life and her own.

And yet, love did not wait. Love was there in the beginning—even before the beginning. Love needed no words, no introduction. Existence was enough.
