Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

This is such a heart warming book, it really puts into perspective how much queer people have to suffer just to love eachother or be themselves. I didnt always love the political parts of the book but it is nervetheless a solid read.

I really enjoyed the book and the overall message that we must look for happiness in everyday life, rather than hoping for an extravagant happy ending. I deducted a star because I didn't understand why the characters misunderstood or mistreated eachother in the second half of the novel, when they seemed so connected in the start.
ps. My birthday is also Jan 13 like the main character, it's nothing interesting but it was cool to read about.

Compared to modern detective or true crime stories, this seems trivial or even guessable. But there it is so satisfying to listen to Sherlock's unravelling of the mystery. In addition the authentic portrayal of 19th century England is also enjoyable to read.

Just no.......
Can good reads please offer a 0 stars option because this "novel" is everything I loath. It romanticises abuse and a winey sad boy, Hardin makes my skin crawl and makes me very uncomfortable. Please don't read this if you have any measurable amount of self respect for your self. I don't know how this has a 3.7 star review because this book has no plot all they do is fight and fuck and fight and fuck and fight and.....on and on and on again.

The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien

Rarely have I read anything that gave me such thrill and satisfaction. This book is so beautifully crafted, the world is so sophisticated and well described. I loved the first half the most and really enjoyed all the Ent war. The second half was a bit slow but more than made up for it in the amazing ending. My favourite character was Frodo but it quickly changed to Sam in this book, his loyalty and courage rivals everyone. Please read this, you won't regret it.
