I really enjoyed this book and despite thinking I knew a good amount about the Charlton brothers I learned loads more. Well-written and gives a good background to the social and sporting events of their lives and times.

I found the book to be a bit slow moving for my liking. It's number one in a series of 'Harry Hole,' books - it might work better as a prequel as it tells a lot of Harry's backstory and accounts for his character and career choices. The ending was pacy.

I learned a huge amount about why the world is currently like it is. The book explains the geographical reasons behind why countries succeed or fail and how sometimes countries (the UK for example) manage to make a bad situation even worse.
