I loved the world building, the way the magic works is different than I have seen before but familiar enough it wasn’t hard to flow into the story . I’m a fan of Kim Harrison’s writing so this was just another great book of theirs. The characters I loved Petra and pluck. I hated the way Ashley treated Petra and how she kept allowing it to happen in the name of friendship but it shows Petra’s heart. I hope we get a sequel.
There is mentions of the death of a parent sprinkled in the book but it’s not heavy on grief.

I heard this was a Gilmore girls meets practical magic book and while I was reading it I didn’t exactly feel like that looking at the parts of it I can see that comparison. It was light easy read funny and sweet very much a cozy book, highly enjoyed it!

I loved this book, it was intense in that the Tori’s thoughts and apathy of it remind me of my teenage years and depressive episodes of my 20s. But overall I really enjoyed it because I could really understand Tori and her voice because I have been in those dark emotional thoughts.

This book was very slow to start I would say I was about 1/3 of the way into it before I really started to care about it be interested in the characters. Ot felt like a slow read to me it took me far to long to get through. I read this first before reading any of the other books in the series and that was a mistake, read this in publication order not first even thought it is a prequel.

I loved this volume, I have loved all of them but this one really touches on mental illness in a way that feels real life and something I wish I had read as a teen struggling to be heard in regards to my own mental health issues.

Love the world this is set in, the way the main character interaction with the world and other characters. The family dynamics is refreshing and feels comforting for them to be so loving , supportive and excepting. Love how the author handles trauma and mental health in all their books. Slow burn for the Romance not a ton of spicy scenes but again I didn’t miss it and still loved the book.
