Amanda Lovelace has done it again!!! I bought this book on Sunday and I couldn't put it down! I loved it! It was so powerful. As always, here are some of my favorite quotes.
"i’ve learned that not everyone is worthy of a redemption arc. —make sure they know consequences are real."
"as much as i sometimes feel like breaking, i have never been broken. if i have survived every bad thing that’s ever happened to me, then doesn’t that mean that i will keep on surviving them? —never shall i fall from my throne."
"bless my mother’s anger. i know if anyone should ever try to inflict pain upon me, she’ll bring the whole earth to its knees to get justice for it. —i wouldn’t mess with her wrath."
"in a hushed voice, she says to me, “when they drag you through hell, do not simply accept it. do not just give in. go on & reign over the very flames that were meant to be your end. wear them as a crown.”—show them who’s queen."

The author asked me to read it and I did. It was okay, but not one of the best poem books I've read. It wasn't bad or anything. It just didn't connect with me like some of the other poem books I've read.

I read this book more for nostalgia than anything else. I still love it just as much as I did when I was kid. That pesky little mouse. I remember reading this all the time, every chance I got, when I was kid.

This was a good book. I enjoyed it, but I personally felt like I was rereading some of the other poetry books I've read before. I still very much enjoyed it and believe in the message behind it though.
